I mean, Kotchman is a bit of a base clogger as opposed to Marson who is at least moderately athletic.

If he was really worried about it, he could have put Damon in to run then throw Marson out there when it was time to play D. I guess that would deplete the bench though.

If Pestano is your set-up man, why take him out just because he gave up one fucking hit? It's this sort of BS thinking that got us into this mess. I said it before and I will continue to say it until Acta gets fired at the end of another disappointing season, he got fired from the Nationals for a reason. HE SUCKS.

Because he has to manage for more than one game? He can't be running Pestano out there for high pitch counts and still be able to use him back to back. Pestano had thrown as many balls as strikes before surrendering that hit, too, it wasn't like he pulled a sharp pitcher.

The irony here is that I was at work for the entirity of this game, happened to catch the hour on Gameday right after it happened, and my first thought was 'someone somehwere is throwing a hissy fit that the guy with 0.96 era and 96 mph fastball was brought in there, even though it is the perfect time to give Hagadone a shot.'. I guess that somewhere was here.
