With Al Harrington likely to be released or traded, would we have any interest?
Hopefully not.

what happened to Al Harrington? He had a solid season 2 years ago (14/6 PER 15.3, all above his career averages), then barely played last year.
How about a blast from our and Mike Brown's past? Drew Gooden. Not the kind of guy you'd want playing big minutes, but he's always been a good teammate and would represent a low-cost insurance policy in the (likely) event one or two of the bigs go down. I'm prepared for the brickbats.

Our front-court is full as it is. We don't need any more PF/C right now.
We can still use another center. Bynum has serious concerns and the Cavs have to recognize the possibility he might not play a game. Varejao has injury issues as well and Zeller looked pretty terrible in Summer League. Adding a vet center who can play a few productive minutes in case of an injury would be a good move. We are trying to make the playoffs and having a deep bench is crucial to reach that goal. Especially with as many injury questions as we have.
Good point. When Bynum and Varejao get hurt during the year.
Fixed your post for you.
Let me take a second to ponder the 2013 front court rotation. Back in the day, Mike Brown liked to do a 4 man front court rotation when he had 4 healthy front court players. That's a deep rotation for a team with playoff aspirations. I expect we will see a 4 man front court rotation even when there are injuries.
So right now, the Cavs have 6 guys that can play in the front court: Bynum, Varejao, Bennett, Thompson, Clark, and Zeller.
Even if both Varejao and Bynum are out, the Cavs still have a 4 man front court rotation using Zeller & Clark. Front court injuries will likely open up more playing time at the wing instead of requiring more front court players.
Where does that leave free agency?
It's going to be hard to sell a Vet free agent on the Cavs because 1) it's going to be hard to find minutes and 2) this team isn't a proven championship contender. That leaves only a "worn out mentor" type signing for a vet or another "signed to be waived" player who will go directly to Cavs the D-league affiliate with some extra money in his pocket as soon as the season starts arrangement
What vets are left? Przybilla?
I expect will see another Micheal Eric type signing this year. I'm sure they'll put in a bid on Jack Cooley, the Harangody look alike.
