Reading the chad ford chat. The guy really has no idea who the CAVS are going to draft. Looked at draft rater from 2012 and drummond didnt rate highly according to Hollinger's statistical analysis which is different than Peltons but he still ranked him 5th anyway. Seems like basketball analytics of college games with junk defenses can only go so far.

I always liked Hollinger's rankings because he didn't rank them simply by analytics. He showed you how they would rank that way, but then made a subjective list at the end that was a combination of his numbers and other factors like upside, work ethic, and what-not. Pelton didn't do that with his WARP ratings, which is unfortunate.

I feel like Hollinger's method was more in line with how teams would actually use analytics when evaluating draft picks. You can't just look at them in a bubble. There are numerous other factors to consider.

I find it funny when all these beat writers/insiders say their "sources" are telling them Len, Noel or whoever. These sources have said we're taking 5 players... No one knows who the hell we are taking, they just need to stop acting like they do.

Cavs have something "potentially lined up." Doesn't involve No. 1 pick. Doesn't involve Boston. I too suspect Thomas Robinson.

lulz

Cavs should pull the trigger on the Robinson deal and deal 31 and 33 to Dallas for 13

If we trade #19 for Thomas Robinson and then trade our second rounders and take on Marion for #13, I would consider that a pretty successful draft day.

I have to think that if these Robinson rumors are real, though, that Bennett is off the table unless they truly believe he can play the three.

"My sources are telling me the Cavs are going to take _____" = "The Cavs aren't talking, but my OPINION is they will take _____"

Applies to really anyone that isn't Jason Lloyd.

Just noticed Bennett is 6'7 in shoes. I know he has long arms and all, but dude is so short for a PF lol.

Getting Robinson has two advantages. It will tell Speights to GTFO. And if Thompson and Robinson play together we can call them the Sons of Anarchy. :chuckles:

That might be the best tweet I've ever seen come from The Bullshit Whisperer
