& ESPN Stats & Info had a tweet about them. Indians are no biggie though.

Good. The more under the radar, the better.

I just had to comment on this.

Why change what's been working & has been the main reason we're on this run right now?

I see no reason to put Salazar in the rotation for Kazmir going into the postseason.

(If we get there, *knock on wood*)

By the way, Kazmir vs the playoff contenders:

6 GS, 35 2/3 IP, 30 H, 12 BB, 37 K, 3.28 ERA

Why make a change just to make a change?

It has something to do with emotions, swagger and risk-taking.

I'm not really sure at this point.

I don't see the point in Salazar coming up to be a starter either. The rotation has been the strength of this team (who would have ever thought that?).

I do think he should come up to be in the bullpen though. I know his future is a starter and it could take time to adjust blah blah blah babying another player blah blah bullshit..... We are trying to make the damn playoffs here. We may not have a chance to make the playoffs again for another 6 years. We need to do everything we can to get there. Salazar has to be given a chance in the pen, considering pretty much every reliever we have sucks ass.

Again though, it seems like it'd be making a change just to make a change.

You're not going to pitch Salazar in 7th/8th innings in tough spots right off the bat (if at all this season), Albers has been good in his role, so there's no reason to make any sort of change there, and Pestano is proven & will be right back on the big league club in a month if he figures things out mentally in AAA.

There is no reason to be making changes to a starting rotation that has 3 guys posting sub 4.00 ERAs and two that are a little above 4.00. None.

Why not? I absolutely would.

David Price is a recent example of a contender doing just that.

David Price never pitched the 7th and 8th in winning situations.

Teams know better than that.

He gave them the opportunity to pull their starter early in the event of a breakdown, but you're not putting this guy into a set-up role after spending the whole season as a starter and in his first year coming off TJ surgery.

It's not happening, it's not a good idea.

Price pitched out of the bullpen during the Rays' run through the 2008 playoffs. Just weeks after his first appearance in the big leagues, he earned a memorable save in Game 7 of the ALCS, helping his club reach their first World Series. Price became a full-time starter in 2009.

I guess you missed it?

While at this point I wouldn't mess with our rotation... As we come down to the wire, I'd love to see a "Salazar as the 8th inning guy" experiment. Highly unlikely for them to ask a guy who's been a starter his whole career to make that sort of temporary move mid-season, but it would certainly be nice to have a guy that filthy waiting in the wings given that Vinnie has fallen apart.

Edit: ... Says the guy who didn't read the thread obviously, ha.

Already off of the MLB sidebar.

Considering it's the first time the Royals have won 9 in a row for the first time in 10 years, I'd say that's why they made the tweet...
