The difference between the Cavs SOS and the Hawks SOS is minuscule. I really don't understand this need to discredit the Hawks. This team is damn good, and the run they are on is impressive. They're not a lock to make the ECF, but they could absolutely win the whole thing, and to say otherwise is ignorant.
How are they considered go-to, elite talents while Jeff Teague, Al Horford, and Paul Millsap aren't?
Tony Parker is going to be in the hall of fame. Duncan, although not what he once was, is a hall of famer, and knows how to play at a high level. Manu is going into the hall of fame.
Those three, do not, at all, come close to having the basketball credentials those three HOF players have. I don't care if they're playing better basketball at the moment. The season is a marathon, the Spurs pace themselves.
The Hawks are fools gold, I'm sorry. They're a good team, they are a good story. I have nothing against them. I hate teams like the Bulls and Wizards much, much, much more. But I still think those teams are better, and two teams that would cause us more problems.
The Cavs won 66 games in the regular season, had incredible winning streaks. How did they do? Someone, please tell me how much "different" are these Hawks than the 66 win Cav team, WITH LeBron.
I see very similar problems with the Hawks, that I saw with us in the first LeBron era come playoff time. Sorry, I used to be just as skeptical of us then, and our chances to win a title. So, I'm not being bias, just being honest.
I give them literally a 5 percent change of getting out of the East. I would be shocked if they did.
What does those 3 being HOFers have to do with anything? My point was that Teague, Horford, and Millsap are all guys that are able to get you a bucket when needed. They're all able to score in isolation when the game gets tough. To simply discount that team because they don't have a "go-to scorer" or an "elite talent" is lazy and misguided. They're a hell of a team.
What do you fellas think about how well DJ Augustin is filling in for Brandon Jennings? Pistons might have even improved!
