2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Espn is giving OSU some love. Good amount of people have us at 4. Kinda surprising.
It is a bit surprising because personally I think OSU has the weakest resume of all of the one loss teams. That loss to Virginia Tech at home looks so bad now. That said, I'm more concerned with OSU just improving as a program. I've stated before that I like the speed Meyer is building on offense. I'm hoping the focus now is to upgrade the defense and build a real powerhouse in Columbus.

Back to back road wins against Top 25 teams is a nice resume builder, while Miss. St. has seen their big wins take a bit of a hit.

Conference Championship weekend will benefit us greatly...we could absolutely jump teams after that Saturday.

I'm still praying for three more losses, though.

Yeah Rob, I think getting three more losses is the best hope. It is possible too. As others have mentioned, TCU has to go to Texas, MSU has to play Ole Miss in Oxford, Alabama still has Auburn, Baylor still has K State....it could happen. I wouldn't expect much this weekend since everyone ahead of us is playing a patsy.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Buckeyes at 5th, I don't see them cracking the top 4 at this point. As someone else already mentioned, kinda surprised to see the Buckeyes getting some love on ESPN. I thought the consensus at ESPN is that the Bucks don't belong

The only team that prevent us from getting in is the big 12 unless, FSU, Oregon loses. No way the SEC teams gets 2 teams in with an OSU team at 12-1.

When does the updated playoff ranking come out- tomorrow afternoon?

T.V. Ratings.

Ohio State has a ton of viewers and fans. At least much more than Baylor or TCU. Or Mississippi State.

Even ESPN wouldn't argue that FSU, Bama, Oregon, and OSU is a dream scenario.

You would arguably have the most watched team in the SEC, the Big Ten, the ACC, and Pac 12. You get the south, the midwest, the west coast, and the atlantic coast.

I believe it comes out at 730 PM on Tuesday evenings.

I just not convinced of that. We'll see what the committee does with Mississippi st tonight. But, if they have an impressive win over Ole Miss in the Egg bowl, there is a real possibility that the committee would put them in over TCU, Baylor, and Ohio St. Their loss to Alabama on the road won't hurt them that much and wins over LSU, Auburn, A&M, and Ole Miss stack up favorably to the other one loss contenders.

I think you make a good point. But they have mentioned that they will look at which 4 teams are the best at the end of the year.

As the season has played out the SEC has looked weaker and weaker. Thus collectively the wins over each other will lose weight. Even though we lost to a bad out of conference team, Virginia Tech would have been the hardest opponent Miss St would have played outside of the SEC. There non conference are the following:

Southern Miss (C-USA) - 3-8
UAB (C-USA) - 5-5
South Alabama (Sun Belt) - 6-3

The committee has also said that when they do the final rankings the conference champs will have an advantage. Ohio State will have played 3 ranked teams in their last 5 games, with hopefully 5 wins. That a strong statement to overcome if they are looking at who are the best 4 teams right now.

I think ESPN finally realized this...I mean, they are the ones who will be televising the playoffs. We even got SEC enthusiasts over there saying OSU should/will make it.
