2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Give him a follow, he's a pretty good journalist and there aren't many of them on the Cleveland beat.

Still having a really hard time swallowing that loss knowing this team is about to face Tennessee, Oakland, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay all within the span of five weeks.

Team could easily be 5-3 after week 9. We will really be able to measure Pettine and this team come then. If they're truly improved and a team close to contention, they'll have a winning record after a very winnable stretch.

Fuck that game.

So if they are not, is it time to consider Pettine on the hot seat? You say it should be easy, so no reason then why the Browns are not 5-3 by that time, right?

What? Way to put words in my mouth... I don't know how it is hard to understand the fact they can go 4-1 against a team they almost beat and then 4 of the worst teams in the NFL. I just think it would not be surprising if they were 5-3.

If they don't go 5-3, then I'll be disappointed, because I really think this team is capable of winning ball games. With that said, I don't think it'll mean Pettine belongs on the hot seat. It would just mean they may not be at the level I think they are.

Huh? Fans talk about "easy stretches" of games all the time, in every sport, how exactly does that mean the coach should be on the hot seat?

Because a coach should be able to lead his team to wins in easy stretches of games. Otherwise, they would not be easy games. I am just giving the logical extension of the thought these games are going to be easy- thus, they should be won, and if they are not won, then the team fails to win easy games- and is that a well-coached team? The simply conclusoin of the discussion.

The Browns section has turned into blithering lunacy over the past couple of weeks. WTF happened? Hoyer being ok getting in the way of the annual second-guessing/pitchfork sharpening?

Win easy games at a 80% clip or you're out? That's no way to ever achieve a winning organization. This whole thing you're serving up, beginning with the Harbaugh theory, is bizzare. Also, unnecessary at this point.

Jeremy Fowler is going to cover the Browns exclusively. Dude was a pretty good college writer - not great, but it's nice to see some national coverage being imbedded with the team. Or it's a matter of CBS spreading themselves to assign a reporter to each team - no idea. Could do a lot worse than Fowler though.

He's not doing it for CBS, he got hired by ESPN.

You're just looking at it differently than me (or MoFlo too, I guess, maybe)... I just think this team is better than their record indicates and that they're very capable of making these next 5 games turn into 4-1 with ease. If they don't? Probably just a misjudgement on how good I think they are right now.

Wasn't this already Pat McManamon's job for ESPN?

I thought Pat MacManamon was doing a great job for ESPN. He was also supportive of Hoyer and not afraid to be very critical of Manziel. ESPN might have wanted someone to write from a stronger company line, just guessing...

In the meantime, the Browns defense is ranked 31st in the league despite being the focus of several first day drafts and most of the salary cap...

Sucks that Crowell is going to fall off once Tate comes back presumably in week 5. I feel he will still get some 3rd & 1's and goal line work, but I love what we have been seeing from those 2.

I guess I can't complain, we have 3 RB's on our team we are actually happy about.

MacManamon isn't going anywhere, FYI:

Looks like ESPN is just increasing their Browns coverage..

Yeah, until Tate gets hurt again in Week 6.

I was one of the people that wasn't buying the whole Tate injury prone thing, but then he signs with us and gets hurt in the first fucking game.
