2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't even need to look at stats to come up with that, but thank you. Did that 08 team have even one blue chip defensive player? Who was that fat fuck we signed in free agency and ended up being terrible? I don't even remember his name. Rogers?

This Browns defense is so good, they've given up 25, 19, 24 and 23 points the last four weeks. The turnovers are nice, but the end results aren't real impressive.

Rogers was such a fat POS.

Help me distinguish between the two offenses.

It's almost like they give up more points when the offense regularly turns the ball over and goes 3 and out or something.

Yep.

Same as '08, right?

19 points is a lot?

25 points to a Colts team averaging over 30? And you scored on defense twice?

I can't tell if you're trolling us or not. The numbers you posted arent even a ton of points at all even when you just use zero context as you did.

19 points is a lot?

It's not 0-18 points. 7 other defenses kept the Bills under that amount.

...and choked on the final possession. The turnovers were great and have been great all year. Don't deny that. But the end result was what it was. They collapsed.

I can't tell if you're truly us or not. Both numbers you posted arent even a ton of points at all even when you just use zero context as you did.

At the 23ppg average they've been at the last four weeks, they'd rank 18th in the league over the season.

Right around where Hoyer ranked most of the year until he collapsed.

My point is that it appears that there's some talent on the defensive side of the ball, but it really hasn't gotten them a whole hell of a lot and most of the talent is on a small sample size. Remember when Leigh Bodden and Eric Wright were gonna be perennial Pro Bowlers? What reason is there to believe the same thing won't happen to the young DB's everyone is so excited about?

And the QB situation is just as putrid as it has been most other years. RB's are an unknown. WR's are an unknown.

The turnovers generated are the biggest difference and the Browns have been terrific in that area. But where has it gotten them when they haven't been able to hold up in late game situations.

Kids, don't feed the troll.

Leigh Bodden compared to Joe Haden. :chuckle:

Yeah. Im not going to.

The defense was on the field the whole game. No shit they are going to eventually let Andrew luck score.

Did anybody really proclaim those guys pro bowlers or are you just making that up?

The defense is also missing key players and is still playing well.

Same shit that's gone on every year we thought the Browns were going to have a good defense.

The offense sputtered so often for so long that the defense collapsed.

Who? Bodden and Wright? Absolutely...Browns fans had those guys pegged as perennial Pro Bowlers when they looked good. There was a lot of hype for those two.

If you're referring to the current guys, then not really. My point is that these guys look pretty solid now, but who the hell knows what's going to happen in two years. Is everyone willing to bank on the defense sustaining for the next 4-5 years while this offense searches for a QB?

The defense is also missing key players and is still playing well.

Lots of teams lose key players and manage to play well. It's not a bad thing that they've done well at times. The '08 defense looked pretty good in stretches too. Same with other Browns defenses since '99. But the common link is that once the QB's started sucking, the defenses would collapse late because they were on the field 90% of the game.
