@nd game was a tough loss because they had the rookie pitcher on the ropes early but could not get that breakthrough hit. Then they squandered a handful of chances after that. Note that AZ just threw lefties at the Tribe pretty much, the young starter (name escapes me) and De La Rosa gave them fits. They started to zero in on De La Rosa at the end (Aviles had a good AB where he was timing him up, hit the last one on a line but it was right at the 3b) and Santana also hit it hard but right at someone. So it goes sometimes. Even Aviles' last AB, he did what he should have- gone the other way with the outside pitch- but it was right into the DP. Sucks but so it goes, split series. Can't read too much into Tomlin's performance since it was a team he hasn't faced before but he was crazy efficient.
One thing I do find funny is folks saying the D-Backs are awful.... and the Tribe was running out 4 rookies in both games too (Perez, Walters, Ramirez, Holt) along with the retread Tomlin in game 2. The DBacks have issues but I guess I just don't see them as being that much worse than the Tribe talent-wise.
