We're still hanging on in this playoff race by a thread. As I say all the time, simply taking the series isn't good enough with this many games left...with tougher opponents ahead, we need a goddamn sweep if we want to keep our foot in the door.

Tuesday might be the key for a potential sweep, as the pitching matchups seem to favor the Tribe the 2nd and 3rd game. Of course we were all thinking sweep with Kluber on the mound in the finale against Minnesota...

They aren't going to get a sweep, though, because the starting pitching is too inconsistent. I thnk folks could get much more enjoyment out of the last 5 weeks if they focused on the probable instead of continuing to put foolish expectations on the team. They are a .500 ballclub as constructed, if they outplay that then awesome but if folks are expecting sweeps every series then you should probably just wait for Sundays then.

Part of the fun is believing. Realistically? No, they'll likely fall short. But am I going to enjoy it and live it up while they're in the race? You bet.

Funny you mention waiting for Sundays...if believing despite the realistic outcome wasn't part of a Cleveland fan, we'd just skip Sundays. :)

I'll gladly take 2 of 3 here and head to KC

Definitely need to keep winning series, I know time is running out, but we have a favorable schedule. KC series after is the one that we need to step up and get that sweep.

With the way our pitching has been, it would be nice for our offense to pull it's weight. Also good to see some of the young guys making key hits. Sure the growing pains that go along with them haven't been the best, but it's promising to see production out of Walters, Holt, Ramirez, and Perez.

Oh, well damn. I guess I should have checked this forum before making the thread. I just was busy all day and didn't have time to post.

Ah well, I'll post it anyways. :chuckle:

Finishing above .500 should be goal. Last time the Indians went 2 straight years above .500, Charlie Manuel was the manager and Robbie Alomar was their best player.

It's weird to think the Tribe season is almost over. It feels like nobody really paid attention to them all year.
The worst part is this isn't even a bad team...just mediocre. Something about being average really brings out the apathy in people.

Something about it being baseball really brings out the apathy in people.

Thought I would leave this here.... saw a reference in a SB Nation article to the FO as 'Shart-o-netti', which was ironically hilarious to me for some reason.
