So, the Warriors are salty that Doc said that you have to have luck in the West and gave the example of the Warriors missing both the Clips and Spurs in the playoffs. He didn't mention the fact that they also faced teams with major injuries along the way.

Obviously you can't fault the Warriors for being healthy, but to act like that wasn't an advantage is dumb too. My guess is the saltiness is due to them knowing the luck they had despite not being willing to admit it publically.

Whatever you think about the Warriors, Doc Rivers needs to shut the fuck up. You can't say "they dodged the best teams" when your team fucking lost to the Rockets. I mean that just sounds stupid as all hell for a coach to say what he said. It's honestly the equivalent of Randy Wittman saying the same shit about the Cavs being lucky they dodged the Wizards. Really fucking dumb.

Pretty cocky Steph, considering you've been injured pretty much every year except this one...you guys are targets now- let's see how *that* goes for you...

He's played at least 74 regular season in 5 of his 6 seasons. His injury history is pretty overblown.

If the Cavs win a title I hope this board keeps this same lucky sentiment, because we're luckier than the Warriors will ever be by virtue of playing in the East. If I were them I'd be responding this exact same way. Doc Rivers shouldn't be mouthing off and the Warriors shouldn't apologize for winning. No one else would.

The Cavs part is very true. Every great East team these days should be very thankful they only have to face one of those teams.

I also agree that Doc shouldn't have made it about them, but it is true that they had some luck along the way in addition to being a really good basketball team. It wasn't at all like they were some scrub team that made a miracle run because they hit a bunch of teams with injuries. But the truth is that every championship has to catch a little bit of luck along the way.

Even if they were the luckiest team in the world, Doc Rivers has no room to talk about it. How disrespectful is that to the Rockets for him to suggest that the Warriors lucked out by playing them instead of the Clippers, when the Rockets beat the Clippers WITHOUT Beverly. That's how shitty the Clippers played in the last 3 games of that series. Yea, bullet dodged, Doc.

Heard the spurs saying that the clips were the only team that could beat them.

Great article for anyone interested on the chaos with the Philly rebuild.

Embiid is made to sound like a complete disaster, and Saric's family apparently doesn't want him ever going anywhere near Philly.

Their rebuild is turning into one of the worst in NBA history.
If you compare this article with that Popovich interview, there's quite the contrast.

I read a comment below the article that I mostly thought was anger, but a good point was made: I think the players ultimately have quite a bit of power. Give that kind of $ to someone who is 20, and you can see some insubordination.

I don't think it will change, and I don't really care, but the point that Pop was making is wise indeed: you have to draft good eggs - hard working, mentally tough, high character guys. I never quite grasped how important that is. Anything else might work, but you are taking undue risks: Anthony Bennett, Dion Waiters. These guys have very little chance - you are just hoping that they turn the corner during what is probably the largest change to their life.

it's wildly premature to call this rebuild "one of the worst in nba history."

moreover, you completely missed the point about saric staying overseas. it has nothing to do with his family not wanting him to go anywhere near philadelphia. the team is completely irrelevant - it would be the same no matter which team held his rights. it all revolves around the financial implications, just as it did for mirotic. did he stay away from chicago because the team was a disaster? no. they were coming off a season in which they had the best record in the conference, a feat they repeated the following season in what would have been his rookie year. he stayed abroad because it enabled him to make far more money when he did come to the nba. the same is true for dario. no matter what the team may say publicly, they understand the situation when they draft a player like that and how sometimes it's a longshot to get the guy in uniform anytime soon.

anyway, as someone who badly wanted embiid when he came out, it's really disappointing to see the problems with his character. it's easy to be an armchair gm and analyze what you see on the court, but mental makeup is always a huge question mark and can totally throw a wrench in a players development. injury red flags are one thing, but how a player responds to them can completely change the direction of his career. hopefully he gets his head on straight and turns it around, albeit much later than 76er fan were expecting.

Not wearing the boot and dunking is so crazy. Maybe he doesn't care. He is a rich already

Wow! How about that. The dude orders a pitcher of Shirly Temples when he eats, lol.

Didn't Embiid grow up very poor in Africa? Imagine back when if they'd have been stocking his fridge with fresh fruits and vegetables; that's unheard of, he'd have eaten every bite.

Now that he's come to America and gotten PAID, he wants cheeseburgers, hotdogs and pitchers full of Shirly Temples. Lol.

Eating hella junk food, and being one of Twitter's most unapologetic hounds lookin for dat ass.

Craig Sager to return to the sidelines on opening night for Pelicans/Warriors!

Why didn't we try to sign Bismack Biyombo? he was cheap as hell and is he a really good backup to Mozgov

The team is that afraid of the luxury tax- not to mention that if you were Bismarck you would much rather go where minutes were more winnable- he would only play here if injuries/ TT never signs.
