2015 Cleveland Browns Training Camp Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Since one's rookie season is apparently the be all and end all on here (according to the Manziel bashers who can't even let us enjoy watching him show improvement), I think its important to note that the great Zach Mettenberger started 6 games for the Titans last season in which he amassed an amazing 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions with another 4 fumbles tacked on. It's important to note that Zach led the Titans to an impressive 0-6 record and all but shored up (which later came to fruition) the 2nd overall pick for the Titans. He may have done it if given more time, however unfortunately, he wasn't able to surpass our very own Josh McCown to earn that prestigious #1 overall pick.

I mean, to make that kind of evaluation while intentionally ignoring the rest of the 52 man roster and their roles in football games is too ignorant to reason with. Lazy.

Mettenberger and Glennon (both of which played a major role in earning those top 2 picks) showed so much promise that Tennessee and Tampa Bay both decided to give up on them and make drafting a quarterback (both of which are far from a sure bet) top priority over the rest of the gaping holes on the roster. When will Browns fans learn?

Dude, you're saying to toss Johnny in there.

Because both those teams thought they were drafting franchise quarterbacks, and you don't pass on a potential franchise QB for a guy who is solid.

Obviously reacting to the Connor Shaw news that broke two weeks ago.

Derp.

Reports had Eric Olsen outperforming Seymour before he got nailed for PEDs. I didn't have Seymour making the team after the suspension.

Minor news.

Manziel's heir apparent.

We shoulda just signed Vick. I can't believe i even had to type that.

At this point we might as well call up Campbell and Quinn. What's Seneca up to these days?

Pat Devlin #QB
Height: 6-3 Weight: 220 Age: 27
Born: 4/12/1988 Downingtown , PA
College: Delaware
Experience: 4th season
High School: Downingtown East HS [PA]

Overview

Devlin has a chance to turn into a starting NFL quarterback and should be a capable backup early on. Teams may want to investigate his transfer from Penn State to FCS Delaware. Blessed with the size for the position. Has enough arm strength for the next level but not quite enough zip to put the ball into tight spots. Accuracy is not on par with his outstanding competition percentage at this stage. Shows glimpses of a poised signal-caller who can scan the field and make good decisions with the football but isn't consistent enough yet. Probable mid-round selection.

Strengths: Devlin looks the part of an NFL quarterback with his great height and build. Has a quick, over-the-top delivery without wasted movement. Has enough arm strength to make all the NFL throws. Shows excellent accuracy on go routes and fades. Flashes the ability to make sound adjustments, work through his progressions, and hit his third or fourth option.
Weaknesses: Despite excellent completion percentage, he doesn't consistently display pinpoint accuracy. Ball can get away from him at times, especially when his footwork and drop discipline are lacking. Appears rattled by pressure up the middle in his face. Will gamble at times. Needs more consistency understanding complex zone coverage schemes.

I'm going to draft him in the first for my fantasy football team, then follow up with Tebow and/or TP.
