2015 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would of bet my left nut on top of a cobb salad that no way Appalachian St. would of beaten Michigan in 2007. Handfuls & handfuls of upsets have happened since then. Florida is definitely on the shitty side of the SEC, but I have seen bigger upsets than them over Alabama. It takes one game & some luck. Hey, the fucking Browns beat the Patriots 5 years back.

Even you just said, you would have to think they would jump over OSU. Their bad schedule and that horrible loss to South Carolina, who have had some awful losses, as well. I think the only way UNC makes it is if they win, Stanford/Clemson/Bama ALL lose.

Bama or Clemson loses, there is a slight hope. If that happens, + Stanford losing, I think they make it. Do I think they will make it? Probably not, because we most likely need 2 losses from top teams to get in. But it is definitely not 0% like you are making it out to be.
ok 1%.

My mind tells me UNC would jump OSU but I don't think it should be that way. I've explained it in detail in other posts, but here is the jist: UNC has by FAR the weakest resume out of all of the teams in contention. The worst loss, the weakest non-conference schedule, and they play in the worst division in the worst Power 5 conference.

UNC would've beat the #1 team. They won the conference outright, which OSU didn't make the title gam. They would've won 12 in a row since losing the opener.

Wasn't there a team last year that lost the first game and dominated the rest of the schedule and conference title game? Hmmmm......

When the clock strikes zero on a 59-0 UNC victory, they'll have the right to be in.

OSU lost to a team that won a bowl game, instead of a 3-win bottom barrel team in a weak SEC.

And I already explained the pretty big differences here.

1) Ohio State had to dominate not one, but two 10+ win teams to get in.

2) Back to point 1, Ohio State DOMINATED Michigan State and Wisconsin. They didn't just win the games. Again, if Ohio State beats Wisconsin on a last second field goal, they probably aren't in last year.

3) Like Boobs just said, Ohio State lost to a Tech team that managed to go to a bowl. South Carolina won three games. While both are bad losses, one is clearly worse.

4) Ohio State didn't have one FCS team on their schedule last year. UNC had two.

Let's not pretend these two situations are the same. Again, if UNC dominates Clemson, ok. But if they win a squeaker? I'm sorry, that's not enough to make up for what would by far be the worst loss and the worst schedule out of all of the teams being considered.

Shouldn't defending national champs count as something to the CFP committee? If somehow the top two teams, or at least one of them lose this weekend?

Ohio State just happened to lose to a good Michigan State team, shouldn't really knock them out of the playoffs in my opinion.

This might be your worst schtick since before Manziel was drafted.
Actually not one, just do not think there is a chance OSU gets in... And you obviously know I went to OSU... I just do not see a scenario where it happens... I hope I am wrong.

Other than the scenarios where a team in front of them loses, then yes there are no scenarios.

Open your eyes.

I think one could make an argument that OSU should be ahead of Alabama and Iowa at this point already. Alabama, with an 0-1 record against top 25 teams. I'm not impressed with Iowa yet either. Bama was ahead of OSU when bama had a loss and OSU didn't. Why can't OSU be ahead of an undefeated Iowa? It won't happen. But, there is no doubt in my mind who the best team of these three are.

Look, I'll leave Iowa alone. I won't go to the eye test argument unless the resumes are equal. Right now, Iowa's is better. They have wins over Wisconsin and Northwestern and don't have a loss. I'm ok with them being ranked ahead of us.

Alabama will just forever live off of the fake SEC strength hype. That conference was not good this year. It just wasn't. The second best team got absolutely housed by pretty good but not great Florida State team, at home.

Here's a look at the most-watched games of the 2015 college football season:

1. Michigan State-Ohio State (7.0 rating)
2. Michigan-Ohio State (6.8)
3. Ohio State-Virginia Tech (6.6)
4. LSU-Alabama (6.3)
5. Florida State-Clemson (5.5)

I know they don't take that into consideration for their "factors", but hopefully if it comes down to it and they need to decide, in the back of their minds they know the Buckeyes will get the most attention & more money.

The SEC Overlord Myth has to be slowly dying at this point, right?
