2015 Game #5 -|- #1 Ohio State @ Indiana -|- October 3rd, 2015 @ 3:30 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Defense got exposed a bit today. Coaches showed no faith in Cardale in the 4th. Turnovers remain an enormous problem.

A win is a win, but the same problems keep showing up.

Starting to get memories of the 02 team.

I'm not sure about the defense. Stats may say otherwise but that awful read by Powell was what made it close. Then they got 10 points off turnovers.

By then the team was gassed.

Defense is elite. The turnovers and the playcalling are why it was close.

Nah on the defense. Defense was constantly put in bad spots by the offense. Save for that blown QB run, the defense was just fine...kind of hard to go from a QB who barely runs that you prepared for all week long to a run first QB mid-game.

Cardale wasn't sharp but he was hardly the problem today-- penalties and turnovers.

So glad I don't have to listen to Ed Cunningham talk about how the team kicking/punting on 4th down needed to go for it. Every damn fourth down......

People can blame the playcalling but Cardale has been given ample opportunity to hit some very open WRs and hes not doing it. The play call can only get a guy open, its up to the QB to execute the throw.

That was a lot of 3rd and long give ups for me to call the defense elite. And giving up multiple scores to the back up QB. Few Indiana drops stalled drives.

I'm not sold on the secondary, but they shut down the run well.

Cardale definitely missed a lot of throws. Indiana is better than usual this year. Play calling was questionable. Well as they say, any road win is a good win. I hope we clean it up next week.

I'd be curious to see JT at practice. I can't believe he looks worse than what we have seen from Cardale so far.

The read option is something we used quite a bit last year, seems pretty ineffective with Cardale taking snaps. He's not the same threat that JT and Braxton are, I think that's allowing defenses to focus on Zeke. JT had to have 12-15 attempts a game, I know he was close to 1,000 yards rushing.

Good news is nobody else in the country looks that good. Sparty struggled at home to Purdue. Ole Miss looks miserable tonight. Pac 12 favorites already flamed out.

That Bama win puts them right back in the mix though.

People will cop out with the lazy answer and just blanket "playcalling" or the QB.

The reality of the situation is, the blocking up front has been nowhere near as dominant. The WRs (aside from Thomas) have not been able to replace Spencer and Smith, especially the outside blocking of Spencer to open up the second level for Elliot.

Until the players decide they want to execute the play calls better, there isn't much that can be done to improve.

Warriner shifting focus to play-calling obviously has played a role here, as has the loss of Tom Herman. The offense has to figure a bunch of things out as the year moves forward.

Still undefeated though.

This team is giving up too many big plays and is relying on the big play instead of playing solid football. We got extremely lucky. Against a top 10 team, we get our asses handed to us today.
