I don't blame Urban for thinking JT was a better option, or whatever.

I think if he wanted to run his offense like this, JT shoulda started from the beginning. Don't sit the agile short passer for the laser armed power runner and then run the QB outside and no deep routes.
100% agree. I think the elephant in the room is, last year, Cardale could run that type of offense because we had receivers who could run and catch the deep ball. Therefore, Zeke opened up the pass and Cardale's arm served to keep the defense honest, which made the few options we ran effective. I think part of Meyer's decision was based on the fact that he thought Braxton could become a Devin Smith type receiver.

Or Jalin or Michael Thomas or Corey Smith.

As I said that Braxton pulls a Devin Smith. Great route and great pass by JT.

Braxton has made some really fantastic catches this season. Wow.

Hell of a catch.....that's probably 6 with a better throw

I do admit to being confused col. If we were applying the same scrutiny to each QB then hasnt Barrett looked far more effective this game than Cardale has in games past? In all areas?

Jalin & Mike were never going to do what Smith did. Totally different types of receivers.

Noah Brown's injury was a killer..
They both are fast enough to be credible deep threats, at least. As long as you had worry about getting beat deep, I think it coulda worked.

There's more to it than just being fast.

And I think Mike Thomas is the best WR we've had in a real long time.

But he's not the deep threat guy that Devin was, that's just not his thing.
