2015 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Calling CP3 a loser and putting the blame on him is just stupid. I honestly feel bad for him. I know everyone hates him because he flops and whines to the refs, but he's really a great dude (63 point game for his grandpa in high school, giving back to the community through "Make a Wish" and "My Wish").

I honestly feel like he's a Top 5 PG to ever play the game - one of the few players in the league that I feel confident in saying that you could put him on pretty much any team and that team would make the playoffs. However, now people are going to go on about how he's a career loser just because he hasn't made it past the 2nd round. I mean he had 26 points (9-20 FG), 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals today. What more do you want him to do? Outside of Griffin and Deandre, his team is trash.

Suddenly people are going to forget that he just beat the defending champs one round ago and his game winner that put them away.

Paul payed his heart out, but unfortunately his team - outside of Griffin and Jordan - failed him.

Don't know about Top-5. But, I have him in my Tier-3. Great player, indeed.

Tier 1:- Magic.

Tier 2:- Oscar, Isiah, Stockton.

Tier 3:- Kidd, Nash, Frazier, CP, Payton.

Rockets gotta tighten up transition D if they want to have a shot.

With the way Howard's been playing on D, the Rockets' wings should stay glued to GS's shooters.

I would go big and start Harden at PG. D assigments would be:

- Brewer on Curry
- Ariza on Thompson
- Harden on Barnes
- Smith on Draymond
- Howard on Bogut.

Ariza has to be on Curry. Brewer ain't that good on-ball defender. He is good at steals and stuffs but I don't think he can keep up with Curry. Ariza is their best defender. So, he has to guard Steph. Probably Harden/Terry on Klay with the other on Barnes.

The positive thing for Houston is, they have good depth and can match that up with GSW. But, as a team, GSW is so much better. Not mention, they have a better coach as well. The series depends on if Harden can get a lot of bullshit calls like he did in regular season and more importantly, Dwight. Houston needs the peak Dwight to have any chance of defeating the GSW.

Barnes killed them..the guy is an absolute scrub....rockets went on a run every time he was on the floor

With the whole "Chris Paul isn't a winner" narrative, I think this is the first time you could argue his team lost to a team they were better than. I picked Houston to win in seven only because I didn't trust LA's bench and the uncertainty of CP3's health when the series started. Once they beat them in game 4 I thought the series was over but Houston deserves credit for their fight. It just sucks that the Clippers got over an obstacle like the Spurs in the first round only to choke away a lead the next round.

CP3 is a good player, but he's vastly overrated..

He's playing with a current top 3 PF a top 5 C and what most consider to be a top 5 coach as well.

You have a 3-1 lead in the series, a 19point lead with 15 minutes to go or so...

Finish !!!!!

The only thing worse than CP3 getting a pass is Blake Griffin getting a pass

Is this the end of the Clippers big 3? Jordan's a FA, and if he leaves, I can see them blowing it up.

Maybe, the biggest problem with that team is Blake and CP3 are very weak mentally they need a guy like a kobe or lebron to carry them and teach them how to win....I cant see them doing it alone no matter what role player you add around them, they are the biggest chokers in the nba imo, so much talent but the mind is weak nothing you can do about that

Don't know about you all, but the Houston pressers, with Harden and even McHale have stated how much they had to go through with all the injuries this year and other noise, etc. Well boohoo. Don't tell me about that crap. I don't know exactly what the injuries were or how much noise they did have, but I do know what the Cavs have been through and it continues on and on. So shut the F up about it already.

such a colossal choke job. I've been watching the NBA for 20 years, and I can't recall seeing a fuck-up of this magnitude. This should finally end the Chris Paul-is-a-winner narrative

I think you just made this up. That's not the narrative I've seen from major media outlets. All I've seen are criticisms for the fact that he's never made a conference finals.

They DID go through a ton of injuries. They lost their starting PG. They lost Terrence Jones for a huge portion of the year, then lost his replacement for the playoffs. Dwight missed half the year with injuries. This team has persevered a ton.

Also, David Blatt always brought up injuries when this team was going through a rough patch, so it's a little hypocritical to call out McHale for doing the same.

It's difficult when your best player can't or doesn't dominate the game offensively. Paul is a great PG, but sometimes you need your top guy to go get 40 and bail you out and that is really not his game.

Griffin just isn't as good as people want him to be. The numbers were there, but he never seems to be a big factor when the pressure is on. He reminds me a lot of Dwight. A guy that is really good, but doesn't have the mental make up to be legendary.

Having no bench made it hard to hide the flaws of their stars. Big Baby, Austin Rivers, Hawes, Hedo give you very little. They needed Crawford to step up and be a difference maker in a series and he was basically brutal the entire postseason.
