2015 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
saying we need to focus on +/- is a fact? get your +/- together boys.

pretty vague description similar to intangibles but that's a thing.

There are alot of lineups that are situational and if they are tailored to a specific situation they will have be to the plus if utilized correctly.

Those same lineups can quickly turn to negative if used in the wrong situations or bad matchups.

its a very vague general term and it really doesnt say what you think it does as differential is used to measure point scores versus points allowed, rebounding, turnovers passing etc
a positiverebounding lineup might be more reflective of a negative shooting percentage and not a big factor to the +/-

Cavs Best lineup point differential was James,Mozgov, Jr, Kyrie and Love. outside of a few lineups that were used for 1 game less than 4 minutes of play.

Its really doesnt offer much in strategy and what to do it is a measurement of performance not a predictor.

you have 8 lineups used more than 5 games in the playoffs. Only one of those are in the negative and 5 of them include Irving.

If your gonna get into advanced stats and use them for analytics you should have a better understanding of it and what it means.

Blatt did have some lineups used sparingly in the regualar season that he has had success with in the playoffs either by force or choice but those lineups still rquire judgement of how much and when to use them or they get exposed and lose effectiveness.

state some facts David because I have no idea what you mean when you say the team needs to focus on +/minus . Use it context.

maybe the term is being applied is cool on reddit now but it doesnt make much sense and I often present discussion using +/- as a tool.

Its the playoffs David dont be lazy

the line i bolded was the only one i read, because youre just wrong.

try again. then read my statement that youre arguing against again.

and chill on the condescending tone because youre telling me, chris parker, and priceftw to go fouck ourselves for coming up with the exac same conclusion that almost everyone else on the board agrees with.

What am i wrong about David. My whole point as saying the Cavs need to focus on their +/- isnt saying anything and its still not. I also didnt quote you directly because there have been others using similiar phrasing.

Ami Wrong that +/- lineups arent impact by situational use or limited use that there are other factors to look at

I asked you a question and you answer me with I am wrong.

I have no more idea what you mean by +/- in the context you used it than Lordmar does about the rick barry safari

these are broken down by minutes played per game and how many games their played. if you think its wrong take it up with NBA.com

I FUCKING BOLDED IT YOU IDIOT, DO YOU SUCK AT READING AS MUCH AS YOU DO WRITING?

I think Golden State is giving Houston the ol' "We'll finish this one up at home" treatment.

So, if for some strange reason Houston was able to win two games before GS closed them out in Gm 6, you can be sure of one thing.

The narrative you'd hear from the majority of the media would not be "hmmm...maybe the Cavs can hang with the Warriors and make it a decent Finals"

It would instead be "Wow, too bad Houston started out the series cold, I'm pretty sure they'd kill the Cavs too.."

Never thought I'd ever say this, but "Let's Go Rockets"

I'm shocked at how poorly Houston covers Curry. You can't lose him on shots by other guys. Somebody needs to shadow him until the rebound is secured.
