2015 NFL Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would love Amari Cooper on this team.

I don't think he will fall to No.12.

Where is he suppose to land, top five?

What do you think about Garrett Grayson? He seems to be the only other name I've seen besides Petty that could be had without a top 3 pick.

REALLY like him alot, I brought him up a few weeks ago in the prospects thread.

Perfect middle round selection for this team, IMO.

The only minor quirk I have with Grayson, is that he has a slight sidearm motion similar to Philip Rivers. It cause the release point of the ball to be lower. At 6'2'' That can be a recipie for batted balls at the next level.

But considering the guy has great touch and can make all the throws, that potential for batted balls may just be a minor inconvience.

Really think the batter balls thing is more so QB's not using throwing lanes and locking on with their eyes. I don't remember ever watching Wilson or Brees and seeing loads I batted balls.

Regarding Petty: AZ, you like him, I don't. My reasoning being that I really think he's a product of the system. Can you persuade me to think otherwise?

Give it time, I will. :chuckle:

Baylor is a different offense from your average spread team, they can really attack the whole field at times and ask their QB to make some NFL throws.

But obviously, that isn't to say it's a seamless transition from their up-tempo style.

I don't see a huge distinction between Petty's mechanics and Manziel's...maybe it's just me.

I do like Grayson, although his wind up can be slow and is definitely funky. Great arm though.

As for some other guys, I'm not very big on Randy Gregory. He reminds me a ton of Mingo in that he looks the part but his moves aren't that great against good competition. I like Shane Ray, but I'm not sure if I like him as a stand up rusher. I LOVE Fowler and would draft him in a minute, but I am a little concerned that he started to fade at the end of his game this year against Alabama.

I think Cooper is far and away the best WR in this draft, but I'm not sure he should be a top 10 pick, definitely not a top 5 type guy. I really like Kevin White and Parker too. I want to love Strong, but he has total Braylon hands.

I think Mariota will be the 1st pick and should be. I think whoever takes Jameis Winston is going to have questions asked about them. I hope it is not Farmer.

IMO, I think Fowler looks like a Pettine player. He will probably get a long look from our front office. I just love the way he plays the game, with such physicality and mean. He brings a different dimension to the field, one we don't really have.

I think Winston is going be solid, at least, in the NFL. I think he will be the best of the 1st round QBs. He is a gamble because of the off the field stuff though.

Oh, I completely agree. I'm living in reality as well.

I don't think you know much about reality if you think that the only way out is getting lucky on a top-10 QB prospect. That isn't close to reality. I realize that the knee-jerk reaction is to throw your hands up and turn the goal into the #1 pick, but you've got to understand that the right guy might not even be a guy anyone is talking about right now. It happens.

You must have missed the rest of my post.

Getting away from the whiny ramblings and indefensible logic, I'm going to throw out a list of players I think the Browns will/should be in on as we kick off the off-season talk:

QB - Bryce Petty
WR - Amari Cooper
WR - Kevin White
WR - Dorial Green-Beckham
OLB - Shane Ray
OLB - Randy Gregory
OLB - Dante Fowler
DT - Danny Shelton
DT - Malcolm Brown
DE - Mario Edwards
DL - Eddie Goldman

Guys I have little/no interest in:

QB - Jameis Winston
QB - Dak Prescott
WR - Devante Parker
WR/TE - Devin Funchess
S - Landon Collins
ILB - Bernardrick McKinney
OLB - Vic Beasley
OLB - Shawn Oakman

DGB would fit right in with this band of bozos.

Funchess is a classic tweener for me.

He's not fast enough to be a wide receiver, but he's not big enough or skilled enough to be a blocker.

You can use him for a small number of snaps as a slot weapon and I think he'll be great in the redzone, but he doesn't provide the all-around game you'd like from his projected mid-first round grade.

I'd agree with most of this but I'll reserve my judgements on his speed until he runs.

Sometimes it is really hard to peg how fast a 6'5"+ guy is because of his stride length.

I think he's going to test out much better than people predict but we'll see.

His route running as a wideout would concern me far more than his athletic measureables.

If you can find a hybrid position for him on offense, I think he's worth the pick but if you're slotting him solely as a wideout or tight end it is a tougher sell.

Yeah it would be somewhat tough to justify, especially given the domestic violence.

But damn, he's just so good at football.

What's wrong with Devante Parker? i like the way he fights for the ball, when it's in the air he looks like he wants it more then anyone else on the field.

EDIT: just realized someone else already asked you this and you replied already. my bad

No love for Jaelen Strong? Too slow in your opinion?

He's a "too soon to call" for me.

I'm not sure he's quick enough, I'm not sure his hands are consistent enough.

Missed the game over the weekend, but I'd like to take a few more looks at him at some point.
