I wasnt really interested in a rental guy that is looking to get payed. Especially considering our losing situation. Maybe if we were 5 games over I'd harp about it.

It's a shame nobody traded for Santana. People keep telling me how great he is but nobody was even rumored to be interested.

And Brantley isn't? If you're in the 2 hole, you should be able to lay down a simple bunt to set up Brantley, and the 4 hole for RBI's.

And since you felt the need to be a dick, here I am again. There is no need to bunt in a 0-0 game in the 1st inning with a hot 2 hole hitter with speed. The odds of him GIDP is slim, so why the fuck would you worry about it, especially in the 1st inning. You are using the hindsight of Brantley's single that followed the GIDP to base your reasoning for why we should have bunted (and don't try to feed me some bullshit that you were calling for a sac bunt all of Lindor's AB, you were hoping for the same thing we all were, a hit or BB to set the inning up). Go back to making posts about wanting Cespedes, at least I can tolerate those...I can't tolerate the suggestions of bad baseball though.

It isn't "basic baseball", it's poor situational baseball. You don't bunt in the 1st inning with a lefty up and a runner on, especially a hot hitter. You hope to use the hole created by the 1st baseman holding the runner on to set up something bigger.

If this was the 6th or 7th and it was still 0-0, I would agree with you. Not in the 1st, and not knowing how hard it is for us to hit with runners on base...knowing that, I use the advantage of the big hole between 1B and the 2nd baseman to try to get it going.
