2016 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Goff has a pretty damn good arm, but as I pointed out I was merely speaking from a footwork/physical standpoint.

Peyton's understanding of the game was so far beyond anyone to come out before or after.

Even then, Goff is still an All-World kind of prospect and the Browns will be fighting it out with Chicago and San Francisco to draft him.
And jax, presumably.

I want him

Me too. For once, I'm in favor of tanking to get a guy like him too. I understand the Browns aren't, shouldn't think that way. But boy there is a silver lining in us being God awful if we can land a franchise QB prospect.

We've not had one at all in this era. People can throw the Browns suck shit crap and they'll just ruin any QB they draft stuff at me. The Colts were God awful before Peyton Manning.

We've never drafted a franchise prospect at the position. I never thought any of the QBs they drafted were serious and significant talents.

I thought Tim Couch was a good prospect, but the situation between that, and now, isn't the same at all.

If we can get a franchise QB a lot changes fast in this league. The other parts aren't as difficult, but getting that guy under center is the most difficult thing in sports.

Bortles.

FWIW, I love what Jacksonville has done to rebuild and don't expect them to be picking in a spot to have a shot at Goff. Legit young talent on that squad....

I don't think Peyton ever had a great arm either.

I completely disagree. Peyton had a fantastic arm when he came into the league and as a younger player. It did wane over time as his nerve issues got worse, but before his injuries, he had a rocket.

He had a good arm, but he never had a Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, or Dan Marino arm. Those guys had, or do have rocket arms

Or even a Tom Brady one before his ACL injury.

I don't think anyone would say he had one of the most blessed arms to play the position.

You forgot to put Weeden in that list.

2015 #SuckOffForGoff?

wait, that sounds wrong....

...on second thought, maybe not

Gary Barn Burner, blue collar extraordinaire, hauling in spiralling aerial poetry from Top Gun Goff. The way I see it, if we don't get the 1st pick in the draft, we should trade up. We really only need 3 players on offense: The center to hike it to Goff who will throw it to Barnidge. We might even be able to squeak by with Gary doing the hiking too, but I don't want to risk injury, especially because I have him setting the edge as an OLB next year too.

If I'm Jacksonville, Blake Bortles is not going to prevent me from drafting Jared Goff.

#1 pick is going to Chicago, WSH, Tenn, Tampa, Jax, CLE, or SF. I honestly just don't think Pettine allows us to lose enough games to get the #1. I also think our defense has too much talent to putz around for 13 more games (despite their recent performances).

We are likely only in the conversation if a slew of injuries hits this team.

Pettine is awful and deserves 0 credit for any win. His defense is playing like it's on its last leg in week 3. Not surprising for a guy who's defenses ranked some of the worst in the league as a defensive coach.

He also looks like this head coaching gig is interfering with his side hobby of being a douche, coming up with highschool level cliche sayings, and bidding lockers on A&E.

Of those teams you mentioned, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tennessee definitely won't be picking a QB in the top 5.

Washington almost certainly will go QB.

Things get a little trickier for Chicago and San Francisco financially speaking. The Bears are locked into Jay Cutler at 16M for 2016 no matter what. My buddy is a Chicago fan and he's pretty convinced that they won't pick a QB next year, but we'll just have to see how Cutler does the rest of the year in Gase's offense.

Kaepernick is only 2 years into a 7 year deal that guaranteed him 61M, although the 49ers do appear to have some ways to get out of a huge cap disaster if they really wanted to get rid of him.

Another team to watch out for in terms of both being horrible and needing a QB is the Saints.

Only way that happens is if Caldwell is fired. Even then it's still unlikely.

I say throw him out there; he gives us the best chance to lose games.

Given how our team played with each guy under center, I'm not really sure that's true. Honestly, I don't think there's much of a difference regardless of who we start, but Manziel has the ability to make some random ridiculous play that swings a game. McCown...not so much.

Either way, though, if our defense continues to suck, we're not winning many more games this year because our offense certainly isn't good enough to win shootouts.

Anyone have any opinion on Seth Russell the QB from Baylor? Just saw from gifs of him, seems to have a decent arm.
