I don't think it's a great idea to look deep into RISP or 2 out w/RISP splits. They're usually fairly random, can fluctuate year to year, and the sample sizes are very small. He's only had 66 at-bats this year with RISP, and only 37 of those came with two outs. Don't like the idea of reading into that.

Agreed, but the .276 against RHP is pretty solid, and will be even better since half of his at bats were in Oakland.

Its a decent pickup. I was worried about Almonte not being around for the playoffs, and CoCo is the perfect player to pickup to platoon and add depth.

Not sure how this is looked at as a negative by anyone.

I didn't mention them to get people to think he'd keep it up or anything like that, which is why I didn't expand on any of them, just listed them. I just thought it was odd considering he's only hitting in the .230's for the season, yet so well with men on base. I don't think anyone here believes that's an indication it'll stay that way.

Also thought the comparison of LH starters vs LH in general was interesting and odd, as was his numbers vs Relievers as opposed to SP.

I certainly don't have a problem with it, he's just a back up. Won't hurt the team, I just don't think he'll do much to help the team either.

All I can think about after this game is Coco Puffs...why is that...

Me: "Mom, the Indians got Coco Crisp."

Mom: "Did they get Milton Bradley, too?"

GET OFF YOUR HANDS, DOLANS

"I would take nine Milton Bradleys if I could get them."- Browns GM Paul DePodesta

have no idea why this post angers me and yet the thought if Puig does as... Wait? Okay this is better but still everything here just gave me a Semi Erden... Fuck wrong sport.

Biggest splits that stuck out to me are his Home/Road splits...pretty well known that O.co is not a hitters park.

Home: 69 wRC+, .205/.268/.349 slash

Road: 108 wRC+, .263/.329/.449 slash (producing like Rajai Davis when hes on the road at the plate, to give you an idea of the level of production)

Those are some pretty dramatic differences given the equal sample sizes (213 PA at home vs 221 PA on the road).

Hope that carries over to Progressive Field, which is much, much friendlier to hitters.

Grateful to see Coco play for the Tribe again. He was one of my favorites growing up a fan of this team, although it was a short stint, but still he was a classy athlete. I'm curious how he's used, how soon he takes over Almonte's spot, and if he's still got it. We'll have September to learn about Coco.

Texted a friend about Coco. His reply: "I wonder what Milton Bradley's up to?"

So, the final trade:

Indians get Coco Crisp

A's get Colt Hynes

We just landed a useful MLB player for a 31 year old minor league pitcher we signed 4 weeks ago...
