Can someone please tell me that the ump behind home plate isn't getting anymore games this series?

What a disgrace. He should have to watch that video of all the horrible calls against Tomlin with tomlin's dad

Cold hearted fuck. Not even asking for preferential calls. In this post not even asking for CONSISTENT calls. Just when it's down the middle 3 inches above the knees can you please fucking calll it

The ump beind homeplate was John Hirschbeck. He himself has acknowledged that he has a wide strikezone, which was exactly why Alomar hawked a loogie in his face years ago.

But the motherfucker was inconsistent all of last night. There was just no excuse for what he was doing last night. I don't get it, unless he wasn't paying attention or was trying to fix the goddamn game.

That wall is probably the hardest spot in all of baseball.

You can't hit it foul and keep it in the park hitting a wall that hugs the line.

He didn't need to jump, but that's a tough play with the wind.

If he hadn't butchered a bunch of other balls in the playoffs, I might give him the benefit of the doubt...

He wasn't inconsistent; he consistently favored the Cubs.

Watching MLB tonight and they just said Hirschbeck called a ball on 10 pitches in the strike zone, 8 favoring the Cubs and called a strike on 9 pitches outside of the zone, 8 favoring the Cubs. That's what the Indians had to overcome. TELL ME the fix isn't in...

Yeah, I don't mind the strike zone he was giving the Cubs, minus the 2 first inning calls against Kipnis and Napoli. My beef is that we did't get anywhere close to the same calls, we had multiple pitches in the regular strike zone that were called balls.

You mean missing one cutoff man, and then slipping on the fringe of the warning track?

Got it.

In baseball, it's not as nice as you would think.

I think the winner of game 3 in a 1-1 series wins around 64% of the time.

A lot of teams have overcome it. It is similar odds to winning game 1.

The team that wins the last game of the World Series wins the series 100% of the time.

Nice graphic and comparison. It would be nice to see Tomlin's pitches that were in similar locations on the left side or lower part of the zone that were called balls, but called strikes for Hendricks. Thanks for posting.

Yea - there were at least 3 or 4 definite strikes that he failed to call for Tomlin. Another 1 or 2 for both Shaw and Miller. Maybe 1 or 2 for Cubs pitchers.

It was an overall terribly managed strike zone from Shitbeck who should be forced to publicly apologize for his performance.
