2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Think I'm gonna root for the Clippers and Spurs to both drop out of the playoffs and for Denver and Utah to make it. Think both give Houston and GS tougher 1st round match-ups.

This is like one of those texts that are all emjoiis and im like wtf does this mean? Im not nostradomis.

The raptors took us to 6 last year right? When we had a full returning cohesive Cavs team. This team we have now is dysfunctional. Unless improvments are made i'd be shocked to see this team beat toronto in a series.

They took them to 6 the year the Cavs won.

Sorry, it was supposed to mean that Steph "Curry" is better than Chris Paul and Harden in the playoffs, and Steve Kerr is better than D'Antoni.

Oh ok, now I get it lol.
Oh yeah, last year we swept Toronto. Only had one loss in the playoffs. Man who knows, when super saiyan lebron shows up anything is possible.

If the Spurs get Kahwi back. I want them in the playoffs. Winning teams find a way to win. Losers, lose.

Portland is starting to feel pretty legit.

You know, it's funny. I think Dame has absolutely made that leap, and it's helped that McCollum hasn't missed a game all year, but it really seems like they've been the biggest beneficiaries of opposing injuries/their own continuity. OKC struggled for the first half of the season, looked like they were putting it together, and then Roberson goes down and sends them into a mini spiral. Minnesota was absolutely on pace to finish ahead of them, then Butler goes down. San Antonio has finally succumbed to injuries (and Leonard has been out most of the year, obviously). The Pels looked to be figuring things out, then Cousins goes down.

I'm not trying to take away from anything they've done this year, it's been impressive. But much like two years ago when they finished 5th and made the second round because the bottom half of the conference caved in on itself, the second round feels like their ceiling.

(Of course, we all know they're going to blow the doors off the Cavs on Thursday...)

I mean yea, but it's not really their fault. Houston and Golden State are just that good. Think if they were in the East they could be a dark horse FInals team. They could beat us or Toronto in a 7 game series right now if things went right.

Man, Nate McMillan does not get enough credit for what he's done with the Pacers this year.

I seriously enjoy watching the Raptors. They have so much versatility. I'm really hoping they fuck up in the playoffs and we turn into the team we generally are in the playoffs. Because if that doesn't happen, I do not see anyone in the East passing Toronto.

If the Cavs don't make the finals, I'd love to see the Raps there.

Oh look - Indiana can’t hit the broad side of a barn, but they still won on the road, because they can play defense...

Indiana with their 40th win just now, improving to 40-28. Wasn't it ESPN who predicted them having a 30-52 record this season?

A lot of people whiffed on them. Go check out the Nets thread. One person in particular was beating the hell out of the drum that the Pacers were the only team that could challenge the Nets for the worst record. Lol.
