I don't understand what happened to Kyrie on offense but I'm confident he will recover from that. He's just too skilled. He's an elite isolation scorer, can shoot from anywhere, has incredible touch for layups with both hands, and the best handles in league history.
But I just can't get over how bad he has been on defense this season. Right now he's the worst defensive player on a bad defensive team. Even in the first half when the Cavs generally looked good on defense, old man Rondo blew by Kyrie over and over again. And not just Rondo - Jerian Grant was blowing by him too. And Butler too, but at least that's to be expected.
His defense puts the whole team's defense on the back foot on far too many possessions. And he's been just as bad off the ball as he is on the ball too. I'm not sure what scheme can even cover up for it. He's clearly not the only thing wrong with the defense. But he's a huge part of it.
