Wow I didn't know batum is only 28. I would defiantly look into a kemba, batum for kyrie and Shump trade. Kemba is like kyrie lite with better playmaking ability. Batum would thrive playing with Lebron. He's a mid 30s shooter but get him open looks from Lebron and I bet he can get into the 40s. Plus he's a great defender and good player maker. We would finally have a 3rd ball handler and playmaker that we've needed for a while.

You know the more I watch the video the more I think Kyrie was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He's at a friends wedding where they're all having a good time. Next thing you know someone specifically films Curry mocking LeBron and then they put the camera on Kyrie. Steph walks away, video ends. Now there is more news.

Job accomplished GS.

Nahh Kyrie didn't look like he was stuck between a rock and a hard place at all. He was an enthusiastic bystander gassing up Steph while he was mocking his teammate.

Batum is a solid role player but he's on one of the worst contracts in the league any trade with Hornets should include Malik Monk.

I love his talent, but I'd have to agree. His mindset is fucked up. I don't think he wants to get better in the way we need him to.

I think his idea of getting better is more offensive touches. More shots. More "me" kind of stuff.

It's troubling he's barely improved in any other area, outside of scoring.

I never quite understood why he never got better in certain aspects that are not that difficult to improve on. This bs saga just proved to me that he just didn't want to improve other facets of his game such as defense and playmaking because he is childish and his game is all about himself rather than the betterment of the team. Good riddens.. such a shame though.

What a joke Twig Curry is. He's the last person that should be making fun of anybody lifting weights. He walks outside on a windy day, and his little twig ass is going to get blown over. Dude's the biggest wussy their is. He needs to hit the weights for sure. My 10 year old nephew is bigger than that bitch

I don't think his deal is that bad in the right situation. It's hard to find spacing when you're next to MKG and you have a revolving door at center. He would look like a stud here. But I agree monk should be included.

If we're taking on Batum's contract I'd have to get MKG as well. Toss in Frye, who just can't get mins against GS anyway.

MKG would be an upgrade over Shump. He'd be the length and athleticism needed against the Warriors. Now his shot sucks, but I'd rather him on the floor than TT vs. GS anyway.

Edit: Check that. Maybe just add Monk instead.

@godfather ,

I don't think anyone really feels Porzingis is better than Kyrie. If anyone really feels so, he is just plain wrong. Now, if I were in Knicks position, I won't trade Porzingis for Kyrie either. But not because I think Porzingis is a better player than Kyrie currently.

Rather, because of the fact that I can have Porzingis for the next 7 seasons at the very least compared to 2 from Kyrie. Also, potential wise, I genuinely do feel Porzingis is a generational talent. Does he need to work on certain aspects of his game like rebounding, putting on some muscles and improving his post-up game? Yes. But he is still 21 with so much scope for improvement.

As of now KAT, Embiid, Jokic are all better big-men than Porzingis but he has the potential and skill-set to be as good as those folks. I see his case similar to how I see Kyrie's case with respect to Curry, Westbrook, Harden etc. Is Kyrie as good as those guys yet? No. Can he be? Yes.

So, will Porzingis ever be as good as KAT, Embiid and Jokic or will Kyrie ever be as good as Curry, Westbrook and Harden? Who knows! But, both certainly do have the talent imo!

Batum is on the decline.. but i'll take Batum, Kemba and monk.

I am not that enamored with him as some are. I think he's good, but hasn't come close to suggesting he'll be a true superstar, IMO.

Just those players I mention, are right around his age. And all of them, are better, or have shown a lot more upside to me than KP.

Embiid is so injury prone, so, I won't put him above KP as a prospect. I just think so much about KP is unknown, and you're taking a giant leap of faith with him.

He's a good player, make no mistake. I'm not saying he's not, at all. I do think if you trade him for Kyrie, we become worse.

And we can't afford that.

Agree. I want to trade more so on that he's made quite clear, he'll never improve in these areas. More so, than him wanting out, or being angry at him. The latter just doesn't help.

This is what he'll always be. A great scorer, and very inconsistent, or just often poor in other ways.

He's definitely never going to be one of the true great players in this league. It's sad, because he has big time talent. Just a 10 cent head and a shitty work ethic.

Its all down to who you surround yourselves with in the end.

They are often the ones putting words in your ears.

Kyrie probably has friends and family telling him how he should be the franchise player already instead of being next in line to take over the mantle from LeBron. The truth is, people like those are what are the worst. You need them to support you, but you can't just have folks who just say stuffs to flatter you. You need to surround yourselves with people who will call you out as well when you do something wrong.

This feels like Shakespeare's Julius Caesar now. :(

Yeah, I had been thinking Kemba would be a good Kyrie replacement if we could get another good player along with him, but hadn't thought of Batum. Good trade if we could add someone else decent, like Monk

Added advantage -- good revenge on Kyrie sending him to Charlotte
