OK, what is the rule on going to first on a 3rd strike. Couldn't Gio have gone if Perez was going to 2nd? Does 1st have to be unaccupied?

If 1st us occupied and there are less than 2 out, the batter can't go to first.

If first is open or there are 2 outs, he can.
