2018 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Haskins decision could come own to how he looks vs NW and if they get in, the playoffs. If they can sneak in, and he goes off vs Bama (or Clemson), even in a loss, he may very well go. From a leadership standpoint he has really come on the past two weeks- by leaps and bounds IMO.

Would he benefit from coming back? Absolutely. He could likely be the #1 pick in 2020, and the offense has opened back up the past two weeks. But, if hes staring at a first round grade, he may go.

They'll have Mack, Olave and Victor next year. If KJ stays, that would be huge. But, we've seen guys like him bounce early before.

The flip side is the trend for top level college players to skip bowl games, or like Bosa, remain sidelined for the rest of the season, to protect their draft position. Haskins and his crew are well aware of the risk.

But the other option is if Haskins declares for the draft this year, he will not be a top pick. And that might be a good thing to him.

Why get thrown into the fire on a bad team as all top QBs do now, when he can be groomed as a backup to Brees or Manning or Brady if he is a late first round pick on a playoff team?

He will get his really big money on the back end of his career, while sliding onto a strong, established, stable franchise at the beginning of it.

I've read a lot of things that say Haskins and KJ Hill are pretty much a packaged deal. If one goes, then the other goes. I think it's pretty safe to say that Haskins can rely on having Hill here next year should he choose to come back, and that's a massive weapon.

Haskins
Dobbins
McCall
Hill
Mack
Olave
Victor
Farrell

That's a hell of an offensive group.

Day is getting another raise too.

Is this..credible?

Why the hell would Ohio State go with Ryan Day as their coach of the future?

I trust FootballScoop, but they sometimes do jump the gun on reports.

Not sure I'm a fan of this move over a Matt Campbell who already has the experience. We shall see if it comes to pass.

If Meyer were to announce immediately after the championship game and OU/OSU resumes are close, wonder if that would influence the playoff committee in anyway. Knowing the playoffs would be the last game(s) Meyer would coach.

Can't see how a program like Ohio State would put their future in the hands of Ryan Day, but okay. Guess we'll see.
