2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The point still remains. It’s not a stat with any sort of significance.

- or no gain on 23% of your runs but you still have one of the best season as a RB ever? When you have the physical abilities of a Peterson or to a lesser level Barkley you’re still going to hit decent and even long runs.

Not worried about that statistic in the slightest and I don’t think Barkley will be even close to those statistics (23%) this year unless he’s with NYG.

Well no, it doesn't stand, and you were wrong.

But....

He had one of the best seasons as a RB ever?

He ranked 28th in the country in rushing yards, 9th in TDs and not even in the Top 40 in YPC. He had five 100-yard games.

His receiving was good. Not historic by any stretch.

Comparing him as a physical runner in the caliber of Peterson is grossly wrong, but you're just saying ridiculous things at this point.

Contradicting your own previous points.

None of that is his fault. Numerous games he got to touch the ball under 10 times as a runner.

Once again. He’s a physical specimen and his combine backs that up. He’ll be just fine at the next level.

What the fuck has Guice ever done wrong?

Well, one specific thing that was mentioned was that he apparently invented the bizarre claim that NFL teams asked him about his sexuality, and whether or not his mom was a prostitute. Otherwise....

....But officials from six teams who have researched and spent time with Guice say there are concerns about immaturity, how he handles his emotions and how well he'll adapt, conform and fit into an NFL program.

As one NFC executive put it: "He's a high-maintenance kid." An executive with another team that has done a lot of work on Guice made clear "he's not a bad kid at heart, at all," but will need structure and mentorship to help him grow up and learn how to be a pro.

"There's a lot of personality stuff there that I'll be interested to see if somebody takes a shot on him in the first round," an AFC scout said.

The pre-draft process hasn't been entirely smooth for Guice, who has switched agents. One issue teams had to dig into: Guice seemed to claim in a SiriusXM NFL Radio interview that teams asked him in combine interviews "do I like men" and whether his mom was a prostitute, sparking controversy and an NFL investigation that is still ongoing, per a league spokesman. But Guice has since indicated privately and to teams those questions weren't really asked by NFL teams.

That happened 0 times.

C'mon mannn.

I just don't care that much about things like physical specimen or combine freak. Bell isn't some athletic freak. But he's arguably the best RB in the league because of his vision and patience as a runner.

I value vision in a running back probably more than any single athletic trait. Maybe that's PTSD from Richardson's horrendous vision, but it doesn't matter if you're the best athlete to ever play the game if you can't see the holes. You can't outjuke, outrun, or run over multiple defenders every play. A big part of playing running back is following your blocks and letting the play set up. That's what I care more about than a 40 yard dash

Not sure how old you are, but best RB season ever in college was Jr year Barry Sanders and its not even close. I know way off topic, but that season was so fun.

Now I consider Barry the best college rb ever, but most experts pick Herschel. I am old enough to remember him clearly in college and he was very, very dominate too. Obviously the SEC was a much tougher defensive league and he put 3 monster seasons in a row together vs the 1 for Barry, but still a fun conversation.

Under 15?

It’s still the same. His o line was not good either.

I can’t wait for you to eat crow on Barkley. He’s not Richardson.

I expect Barkley to be a 1000 yard back. He's also probably the most ready coming out of the draft. I've literally said he's RB1 or RB2.

Nobody is saying he's Richardson, which is why your future shit posts won't be warranted either. I just don't think it's remotely worth it to take him early.

But comparing his physicality to Adrian Peterson is a hilarious take. Alvin Kamara is the next Zeke Elliott...

Lamar Jackson is the next Tom Brady....

Their styles couldn't be more dissimilar.

These ridiculous takes like that, including saying stupid things like you said above or discussing "best season for a RB ever" type of shit is inaccurate and moronic, to be honest.

Look there could be some validity to your argument. He will be a very good back in the NFL and the physical traits are too great to ignore. I am not one to want to spend the 4th pick on him, but wouldnt be hugely upset if we do.

Thing is, its not hard to google his college stats to see he had 14 attempts 4 times and 10 attempts once. But twice he had over 20 attempts and under 100 yards, and missed 100 yards 4 times when still having at least 15 carries.

This is such a fucking cop out by you. :chuckle:

You’ve said you don’t even think he’s the best back in this draft and over and over have highlighted his “vision” as being poor.

Other have said it’s a similar situation to Trent. Numerous times actually. So yes, they are.

Which is it, is Barkley good or bad. Is he an elite RB or not? Because if he’s a 1,000 yard rusher he’s likely a 1,600 all purpose yardage player.

Peterson was in a class of his own as a runner while he was in the league.

He was a physical freak more so than Barkley but he also had outstanding vision and acceleration. Peterson's acceleration is a part of his game I think gets underplayed. He would sift through the holes and then just hit that top gear in a split second and he was off

He also was such a violent, punishing runner. He literally had everything you could want as a runner. He wasn't ever really established as a receiver but he was such a good runner it didn't matter.

I wish there was a Peterson in this draft, but since I've been watching football I've never seen a better runner. I think he was easily better than Tomlinson
