2019 Around the MLB

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So 12 years 375-400 million to keep Lindor?

Trout, and even Machado and Harper, have almost 0 bearing on what Frankie is looking for.

Correa and Báez and what they get will dictate what he wants considerably.

How is that Lindor got twice as much as Baez in arbitration? It that number based upon their first 3 years, or just the previous year?

So there’s a chance...?

Jk. We all know there isn’t.

There definitely is.

People can believe what they want to believe, but there’s a very real chance...and that comes from a channel that I am very confident in.

As mentioned before, a few things need to fall into place first.

Arbitration is just a fluid event. Different people hearing the same case can come to different conclusions, so you can see discrepancies all over the league.

And all the things that you can imagine can be used as positives and negatives are used by both sides.

In Lindor’s case as opposed to Báez, it’s been his full body of work and, perhaps most important, the position he plays.

Is the sale of the team one of them?

I guess I was under the impression that the previous year was "heavily weighted" in negotiations.

Lindor is undoubtedly the better player and has shown consistency that Baez has not, but interesting to me that they had similar 2018 seasons and Lindor received twice as much money.

Like I said, anything you could possibly imagine is used in the arbitration process.

In a perfect world, sure the previous season would be the tipping point for the decision, but it isn’t.

Guarantee Cubs officials pointed out his K rate, his mediocre 1st few seasons, and his low OBP and compared him to other 2Bs and what they got paid.
