It's very unlikely, but now that we have Todd Monken and looking like we'll be running a combination of Kitchens' offense and the air raid, a receiver I am interested in is DeSean Jackson.
He demanded a trade, in large part, because Jameis struggles to find him. But Jackson has looked good in two systems that run a lot of "mesh" plays and simple vertical routes because he's very fast and outstanding at reading coverage. This was evident in Philly with Nick Foles and Tampa with Fitzmagic. They are both QBs good at diagnosing their first read, but who also like to throw it to their first read, whoever that is.
I happen to think Jackson would succeed unlike he has before with Baker. Playing Jackson as an "X" on a mesh play, where he would be the third or fourth read and needing to make at least two decisions for his route, with an intellectual QB like Baker, is sexy as hell to me.
Jackson is not the most physically dominant receiver and he's not your prototypical "X" guy. Nonetheless, if we are going to bring in someone, my guess is Jackson will be significantly cheaper than OBJ and AB, has experience succeeding with Monken, and would work really well with Baker.
Unlikely to happen because I am not sure Tampa will trade him and, given that we have roughly four NFL quality receivers, Jackson's cost may be too much.
