And he'd be worth every penny. Guy is probably the best defensive backs coach in America and recruits like a mf'er.Some smoke that Raymond is being offered 1 million a year by OSU...damn...
I am feeling pretty good about the team going into next year, we are bring a lot of players back, and with Hill and Fuller coming back we will have good leaders on the def and offense. On offense I know we will have to break in a new QB, but he will have weapons now, we are loaded at Rb, and with the WR coming back the tools are there. I know we will have to re-work the O-Line but we have the talent.
I think my biggest concern is actually RB. Someone needs to step up next to Dobbins. I miss the sledgehammer between the tackles that just takes the will out of the other team. Hyde had it and then passed it to Zeke. Dobbins and Weber formed a nice tandem, but never provided that downhill punch IMO. I'd love to see Master Teague maybe step into that, but that'd be my biggest concern right now.
I think under Day, we'll see no shortage on WR talent. Guys are going to want to play in his system. When he is getting 3 receivers close to 70 catches a year, and bringing in elite QB talent, that is a system where WR's are going to be knocking on your door. I hope they don't lose an identity of hammering between the tackles though. That's something you can lean on in good weather or bad weather, which is essential in the winter in Big 10 football.
I agree, part of me thinks the split backfield was hard on Dobbins and Weber to get a grove in. It was probably my biggest frustration with the every-other series. I am excited to see what Dobbins can do with the additional carries. I also hope we incorporate more of a pistol formation at times to help the RB get the RB running more downhill. I also think the fact both QBs we have now will be able to run the RPO should help the running game. I do not see us going back to a heavy RPO as pass it more, but the QB's on the roster are better suited to run it vs. what Haskins did.

I expect a wide open offense with less zone read sets, now that Day can finally not worry about including Urbana’s love for the zone read and running the qb.McCall got more touches late in the season this year.
I suspect he will be more involved next season. Perhaps in a Curtis Samuel type role.
