I'd probably prefer Byron Murphy to Williams. I get that Murphy isn't as big as you'd like but the kid can fucking play.
Washington ran a lot of zone with Murphy and we know Wilks loves running rone coverage. That said, the prototype for a zone cornerback is Richard Sherman and I see a lot of those types of physical attributes in Greedy.
No matter what, cornerbacks are highly scrutinized at the combine because the best athletes play corner. We will have a better idea of the pecking order after the combine.
I would jump up and down if we got Greedy. He’s an equally talented but different corner than Ward. He’s big, more talented against short passes, and a bit more of a ballhawk but worse in coverage.Another update from CBS, with admittedly over reactions to the Senior Bowl:

This one has all CB lasting until the Browns pick:
17. Cleveland Browns
Greedy Williams, CB, LSU. Imagine a secondary of Williams, 2018 first-rounder Denzel Ward and 2017 first-rounder Jabrill Peppers. The Browns are already our favorites to win the AFC North next season, and adding Williams only solidifies our belief. He may not be the most polished cornerback in this draft class, he is insanely athletic and has all the tools to become a great player.

I think, between the two of them, Randall, and Peppers, the Browns would have the most versatile secondary in the NFL.
But, I’m not sure he lasts until seventeen...
Seems to me like Jeffrey Simmons checks all the boxes for a John Dorsey pick. Production, plays a key position (interior pass rush), everyone believes he will test incredibly at the combine, and he's got the off field issues that may make him drop to our spot.
The risk with Simmons is a little similar to Reuben Foster. Anyone with a domestic violence on their record looks like an absolute steal in the draft until they fuck up again, then it's expected that the team cuts him outright. I don't think Simmons is as hard-wired as Foster, but I didn't see the Kareem Hunt thing coming from miles away.
I have a joke, but I feel like it is just not an appropriate time. It would be a dick move to kick her while she is down.Neither did that chick.
That said, with the amount of DL talent, if we are going to double up on position on one of our 2 stud young defensive players, I really like the idea of getting another DE or a DT capable of commanding a double like Myles. Put a stud DT next to Myles and makes it almost impossible to block our DL.
I don't have a definitive statement about valuing defensive line over other positions in the first round, but I think it's worth noting the draft value pyramid again after it was helpful in last year's draft:
I see three technique defensive linemen in the bottom along with guards and nickelbacks. I think there are some great three techs available, and the depth for interior defensive line in this draft is underrated. I'd be happy if the Browns take a three tech in the first round, but is the value available later?
