He’s not a guy you can completely stop but the Sixers actually did a great job slowing him down, great defensive scheme. He scored a lot but on a ton of shots — his efficiency wasn’t good, especially compared to earlier in the playoffs
 
Toronto has to play much better if they are going to beat the Bucks. Not sure I love their chances. Especially without home court.
 
I'd posit that Kawhi is at least as valuable as KD and Giannis. He is the best defender in the NBA and the most consistent, and frankly, the difference is not even close.

So while KD and Giannis are more efficient, at some point, the difference in offensive production hits a ceiling. Can KD and Giannis score more and do so more efficiently? Absolutely. But I do not know if the difference is substantial enough to offset what Kawhi does to an opposing team's offense.

Every single time Philly wanted to get Butler the ball then they had to run a series of screens. That inherently limits the plays an offense can run. That all happened because Philly did not want Butler running the offense with Kawhi guarding him.

Thinking about it more - Kawhi does to an opposing team's offense what Kyrie does to their defense. He is so skilled on that end that it totally warps how another team chooses to attack. On top of that, Kawhi is also a top-10 offensive player in the NBA.

Guy is a monster. I feel lucky to watch him.

I have a feeling that in the West, he could possibly end the Worriers. And the Spurs would have if not for Zaza being an asshat.

ECF gonna be a good show this year.

As for WCF... fuck the Worriers. Love this Blazers team and CJ's references to 2016 LeBron. I hope they can pull off the seemingly IMPOSSIBLE!!
 
Toronto outside of Kawhi looked pretty bad this game though, even with the Sixers focusing on Kawhi to the point of double and triple teaming him at times. Not a great omen for the next series.

One thing: if the Sixers do fire Brown as rumored, the Lakers will be kicking themselves for not waiting a week to decide on their next coach...
 
Kawhi reminds me of how LeBron carried the Cavs a few times. That Philly team was tough but now that they're playing against the team with HCA, I think Toronto might be in for some trouble. I do think Siakam, Kawhi and KD are really the only guys who can potentially guard Giannis one on one so to me it's going to go down to the rest of the team. To a degree, Kawhi and Giannis cancel each other out. At this point, Milwaukee outside of one game has had everything going for them. But they have had a lot of moments of pure stupidity on defense and offense. The way they let Boston back into almost every game was a little frustrating. Either way I'm kind of excited to see who comes out. Also, fuck the Warriors.

Let's not kid ourselves. 2017 they'd take game 1 and maybe one other game. 2018 you can probably give them a 4-2 loss instead of 4-1.

The question is this, who gets the scratched cornea tonight? My guess would be Kanter. My next question is, when balls keep getting kicked, eyeballs gouged, why doesnt somebody step up and knock him the fuck out? Im talking a cheap shot haymaker. Just end him. Is he like the baddest dude on the planet or something? Refs just let him do it so maybe its time for a player to throat punch him while his donkey mouth his hanging open

I hear that! Flat out knock him out. Get some benchwarmer to do it. I'll pitch in to pay his fine. He'll be a hero.
