2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dorsey has proven to take guys like that to take advantage of the market.
I think Dorsey would be all for it.

But I could easily see a scenario where the Haslams veto it.

i think DNA might be real guys..,

breeding dogs would be the case study to point to, me thinks

So, per Peter King, it's looking increasingly likely that the Patriots will not use their franchise tag on Trey Flowers.

Trey Flowers Could Be a Very Lucky Man Tuesday
I love this factoid. In 2015, the Patriots used an early fourth-round pick, the 101st overall pick, on Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers. He has played for the Patriots for four seasons, collected 26.5 sacks, and has a chance to be a very good to great edge player for the next few years. Of all the front-seven impact players with bright futures who could be free Tuesday, there’s a good chance Flowers will be the only unrestricted free agent; the Patriots don’t usually break the bank for their own free-agents at the top of the market (see Nate Solder), so I would expect someone (the Jets, perhaps) to pay the 25-year-old Flowers somewhere around $17 million a year. If so, the Patriots would be likely to get a 2020 third-round compensatory pick in return … that pick will be very close if not right on the nose to number 101 overall, five years after New England used the 101st pick on Flowers. So now you see one reason why the Patriots have become a NFL continuum.

I know sacks are overrated but 26.5 in 4 years isn’t impressive. Not 17M a year impressive.

Was on a one-year deal and can pursue his options.
Would you sign him as a backup for let's say 2 year $14M? I don't know if there are better back up options. I know he looked terrible in the beginning of the year, but it's hard to evaluate since Haley/Jackson were both so incompetent.

No. He looked awful when he played 2.5 games and 7 mill per a year can be better used elsewhere. If Baker cant play, we are fucked, and Tyrod wont win us enough games to matter as a better backup. For 7 mill I rather find a better backup or use a late round pick on a rookie we can groom to be the backup for 4 years until someone over pays for them to be the starter ala New England.

Everyone looked awful with Haley calling plays. He did absolutely nothing to play to Taylor's strengths.

His play has fallen off but he’s still played well against us. Good to see him leave. Ravens are getting weaker.
