Ohio State's biggest problems coming into a game like this are the pass defense and Fields inability to progress through his reads in a timely manner. Since it's highly unlikely those can be fixed in the two weeks since their last game, there are a few things they have to do to have any chance tonight.
Sermon has to run like he did against Northwestern. He's not going to get 300 or even 200 yards, but when he gets the ball, he has to be as effective finding holes and breaking tackles.
Fields has to run the ball. A lot. Instead of standing there clueless when his first option is covered, just run.
The secondary has been bad, but the pass rush hasn't been great either. Harrison was supposed to be next stud edge rusher, but he hasn't been anything special. They have to get pressure on Lawrence or he will just torch them all night.
Zach Harrison and Master Teague won't be playing either. Teague isn't due to Covid, though.Harry Miller out tonight due for COVID. Hopefully there’s no one else..
What happened to Teague against NW? Concussion?Zach Harrison and Master Teague won't be playing either. Teague isn't due to Covid, though.
Losing Harrison is a big blow for a team that needs everything to possibly win tonight. I have zero confidence in a win, which wouldn’t have been the case if it was a regular, full season. Fuck I hate Clemson.
Harrison loss hurts. Cooper, Tyreke, Friday all gotta show up big. Teague I could care less about honestly. He was ineffective af against Clemson last year when JK got dinged up. I’d rather ride Sermon and mix in a bit of Miyan/McCall/Chambers.
Keep the faith. I think OSU has a better chance than people are giving them. Clemson not having their OC could be massive for us. Also, they don’t have Nolan Turner for the first half.
No, this years Ohio State team isn’t as talented as last year’s but neither is Clemsons. I’m cautiously optimistic Ohio State surprises everyone tonight and gets the win.
