2023-2024 Buckeye Basketball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Idk...I hope so.
1st full off season for Deebs, you'd think he'd have some concept changes. This is all new for him, so that will be interesting.
They lost a lot to transfers, but got some good names back via portal.
Will be interesting to see what the 2 new bigs do. They had a lot of stars after their names, and went to blue blood programs, but they didn't get (earn?) the run they expected. They should now almost by default, so can they reach the stars they were assigned?
I'd feel a lot better if Okpara was still here, cuz he really made nice progress last year, and it's been a long time since Buckeyes had true strength on the front line.
Also, Indiana killed it in transfers. They could be the cream of the crop. Buckeyes should be strong, but really, nothing has been established yet. Making the tournament as a solid seed is of course the goal, hopefully a football national championship buoys the basketball boyz!

I think they should be around a 6 seed right now. Lack of 3 point shooting is the obvious weakness. But I see a very good defense team unlike the past few years.

I hope you are right, but it is basically a brand new team.
From last years squad, in terms of most minutes played, only 3 of the top 11 return. Thornton, Royal, Mahaffey.
Gone are Battle, Gayle, Okpara, Zed, Bonner, Middleton, Hardman.

Meechie returns, so he will likely start, but the 3 main bigs are a freshman and 2 transfers who did not play alot. Deebs has his work cut out for him.
