2023-24 Season | Game #66 | Cavs @ Pelicans | March 13, 2024 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If I had to guess what the over-under was on games where you posted beforehand that the Cavs had no chance, then the Cavs actually won, I think it'd be around 5.

We have a shot tonight, especially if Mitchell us ready for his return.
I agree that the more it appears they have no shot the better they play. And vice versa.

I'm chocking this game up as a loss. We've won a few of these when it looked hopeless this year, so I'm not counting us out, but its just going to be very difficult. I see the next 2 road games as much more winnable. We should be getting DM and Wade back for Houston & Indy and possibly even Strus. Assuming we wouldn't play DM before he is ready, I wouldn't mind seeing him get about 20 minutes tonight to knock off a little rust and be ready for Houston.

Zion has not played against the Cavs since April 21, 2021, nearly three years. Last year he missed both games and the year before that he missed the whole season.

But in that 2021 game he was 16-for-22 for 38 points in 36 minutes. He also had 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and blocked 2 shots.

A month earlier he went 9-for-16 for 23 points in 18 minutes in a 34-point win. Combine the two games and in 2021 he was 25-for-38 with 61 points in 54 minutes against the Cavs.

To be fair, in the April game the Cavs' starting lineup was Hartenstein, Love, Wade, Okoro, and Dellavedova. (Wow!) Prince, Lamar Stevens, Cedi, and Kabengele came off the bench. What a roster!

Steven Adams was the Pels' center so I assume Zion was guarded by Love and maybe Stevens or Tashaun Prince.

In the other game Allen started at center with Love and Larry Nance Jr at the forwards. So I can see why Zion feasted in 2021 with guys like Kevin Love, Nance, and Stevens guarding him.

But tonight it will probably be Niang when we really need Wade or Mobley. At least Mobley's length might bother him.

Zion takes 71% of his shots at the rim, 27% short mid-range, and 2% are 3's. He makes 67% of his shots at the rim and 37% from mid-range. He is fouled on 20% of his shot attempts, putting him in the 93rd percentile among bigs.

Why? They're a half game out of 2nd and three games ahead of New York.
It would be nice not to lose three in a row, which happens in the NBA. I would like to see them get the second seed back. They have a really tough road schedule looming out west before the end of the season. The Knicks also have OG back. I don't know. I would like to see a win tonight against the pesky Pels. It's a winnable game, and we can start these next 3 off on the road, right...

They’re looking a bit more than pesky these days. I’m betting we get curb stomped tonight . . .

Damn. What's going on with Wade?
