Since this game sucks and you’re talking soft rock Beatles gems, ever hear of a band called the Cactus Blossoms? Knew of their existence from an appearance as a Roadhouse band in one of the Twin Peaks S3 episodes but got guestlisted to their show last night and was shocked at how good they were and how tight their harmonies were. Think Roy Orbison meets Patsy Cline meets the Everrly Brothers.
Also, Jordi or Chris Quinn?
Just toured FAME studios down in Muscle Shoals for the 3rd time and this was the first time I met a Allman family member while there, so down with the Orbison/Cline comp and will check them out.
Jordi over Quinn
What works in Miami is directly tied to Riley providing the coaches with a buffer via his ownership stake, trust he’s built with Arison and Riley’s patience with coaches developing and knowing how important organizational stability is via his own coaching arch.
They’ve created a college program like system with the lure of the beach and tax breaks to always attract at least 2nd level stars and ring chasing vets and then convince them to buy in to the college program collective to make playoff runs… you can’t replicate that in Cleveland.
Fruit from that tree has tried in other cities, with other organizational structures and it just doesn’t work.
You have to appreciate Riley’s unique power and if you do, you won’t overvalue the individual pieces that comprise the collective. (Quiet as it’s kept, really feeling Max Strus is JAG and would not overvalue any other player, coach, equipment guy or nacho vendor associated with Heat culture unless you’re bringing the source of it all with them).
So… meh, to Quinn and don’t feel he’s on the same level as Jordi who has gotten it on his own, in multiple orgs including cutting his teeth and learning to walk as a coach, here.
