Contrary to my usual stance with Cleveland sports teams, particularly the Browns, I've chosen to be optimistic this year....because why not? All the pieces are there and I don't foresee a team as talented anytime soon.

The time is now, may as well ride or die.

Im having a Saturday funday but I really think it’s the Browns year… roster is talented as fuck and it’s time to win the division and make a run

Too many browns fans are optimistic especially those that are usually pessimistic

Feels like a bull trap

In reality though it’s all up to Watson. If he plays like he does last year we are last in the AFCN. If he plays like a top 12 QB we can contend for AFCN

Still lots of holes and questions on this team. Wouldnt be surprised if they win 11 games. Wouldn't be surprised if they lose 11.

What holes?

I think backup guard is the biggest hole, with Wills, Teller and Walker as the only non-Watson question marks.

That's one of the top 2 or 3 rosters in the NFL if those are your only question marks

There's not very many holes on this team. I'd argue this is the best roster 2-53 that the Browns have ever had in fact.

It really does come down to Watson as @The Wizard of Moz and many others have said.

If he plays like he did 2018-2020, the Browns could legitimately win not just the AFC North, but win the Super Bowl with some breaks - injury luck, etc.

If he plays like he did in 2022, they'll probably go like 7-10.

I think Watson is going to be better than "just fine", I think he's coming back with a vengeance. On top of that Berry and Haslam have gone all-in with this roster, like CBBI said it's one of the best rosters I can recall if not THE best. New DC in Schwartz along with the DL and DB upgrades has me pretty optimistic on that side of the ball. The best WR room we've had since I can remember, and we still have all the strengths from past seasons in Chubb and the OL.

So, what can go wrong? Since it's the Browns I am assuming an asteroid strike or something of that nature. As good as everything looks I simply have to see this exact group of players and coaches put it all together on the field before I get over how badly we've been burned in past seasons. If they perform to their ability and come together the right way I think this group has what it takes to go to the SB. That is the realistic ceiling for me. The floor? Who knows, but like Rafters said I think we'd win 6-7 games even with DTR behind center.

So, what can go wrong?

Injuries are always an equalizer.

If any NFL team, Browns included, gets like 2-3 significant injuries at the same time at any position group, that position group is going to be negatively impacted in a huge way. There just aren’t 1,696 elite football players in the world (32 teams x 53 man rosters).

If Myles and Za’Darius both get hurt at the same time, the pass rush will crater and everything defensively will really take a step backwards.

Any discussion of success, for the Browns is depending on two things, Watson and relative health.
