2024 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd expect the Browns to come away with one or two of these guys:

RB: Tyrone Tracy, Jaylen Wright, Marshawn Lloyd
WR: Troy Franklin, Malachi Corley, Xavier Worthy
TE: Jaheim Bell, Ben Sinnott, AJ Barner
OL: Kingsley Suamataia, Kiran Amegadije, Tanor Bertoloni
LB: Cedric Gray, Tommy Eichenberg, Michael Barrett Jr
DB: Max Melton, Javon Bullard, Malik Mustapha

I understand what he's saying here and I wouldn't mind Hall in the 2nd, but I think people too commonly underestimate the difficulty of making-the-leap from a 40-60 range player to an absolute top 20 prospect. Without a big growth spurt or a major uptick in sack numbers, I don't see how he could make that kind of a jump. Fine at 54, but I think the Buckeye bias might be talking for him a bit here.

If we were to look at current mock drafts for the guys in just range 40-60 this season, it wouldn't shock me at all if 60% or more wound up getting drafted lower than their '24 projection if they went back to school for a year. Obviously mock drafts and big boards aren't an exact science, but it would be interesting to look at mocks from right after the college season ends to see where players wind up going in the draft if they return to school for another year. I'd guess most of the time it doesn't improve much.

Drafting a iDL makes sense looking forward but how are you going to make sense of who you cut to accommodate such a pick?

Are you taking a major dead cap hit in Jefferson? Are you cutting former mid-round draft picks in McGuire and/or Ika?

There seems to be other areas to address that address future needs while also having the room to carry the player on the roster this year without the early termination of talent or large dead cap hit as a result..

I agree. I think we will go position of future need like OL in round 3, and best player in round 2 or if someone slides who they have a 1st round grade on, maybe a trade up using some later picks.

My draft routine is the same as always: whoever the Ravens pick I will instantly think they are such a Ravens pick and that the pick is amazing. Browns pick I will cheer and be in awe of Berry’s genius. Final step, come to RCF and binge read about each player.

Amazing work in here boys.

I'd be really surprised if they take a LB on Day 2...

This regime has historically not highly valued the position and there's no JOK on Day 2 to make an exception to the rule..
I agree with you.

But there's also something to be said about values shifting. Not "we suddenly value linebackers highly" but "Well, if the other holes are already filled, the gap between a good linebacker and a JAG makes more of an impact on this team than adding depth at a position we value."

I wouldn't mock a RB or LB to us in the second round, but if we took Colson or Benson I wouldn't complain.

I thinj Colston is the type of guy who can cause the Browns to break some habits.

Also, I still think WR is the way to go. And I think they should draft a WR in the 1st next year too.

I don't see this receiver group as any more talented than the past few years. They do have better length than the receiver crop last year. Linebacker, edge and safety are mediocre groups this year so I lean towards waiting until day three.

This is an exceptional year for offensive line, so I hope the Browns target one early in day two.

I'd agree and could understand OT in the 2nd.

I just think they need to start investing in pass catchers high in the draft.

Can’t even pretend to know anything about this draft.

So anyone they draft I’ll be like, that sounds like a solid choice !

Anyone have any hopes and dreams coming into the draft? Any news coming out of Cleveland?

I think Sanders might be off our boards in the 2nd round because of position and RAS. Seems to go against a lot of the analytical guardrails. Stover is probably out in the 3rd as well due to age. I could see the Browns picking either if they drop though.

If I had to make a guess and they stay at the current slots, I’d go with Michael Hall at 54 and Sinnott at 85. Those two seem to check the most boxes from what the Browns are looking for.
Nailed 54, unfortunately won’t nail 85!
