Trades

Cleveland trades their 1st Round Pick (3rd) and Chaun Thompson to Houston for their 1st Round Pick (8th), 3rd Round Pick (72nd) and David Carr.
Why?: Simple... Instead of filling just one hole, we get the chance to fill 3... Carr gives us a legit QB, we can trade down and select a solid player for the future and we et a 3rd rounder to provide depth or be a solid starter... We also avoid paying the big money a 3rd pick would receive...

* Indicates underclassmen.

Why?: Our run defense was absolutely horrid last year... Overall, we had a good defense, but being on the field and not being able to stop the run really wore the defense down and made them less effective... By getting Branch, we get one of the best DT prospects to come out in awhile and someone who can help in the run-game...

Round 1

1.
13.gif
Oakland Raiders = Zach Miller | TE ::: Arizona State |
2.
8.gif

3.
27.gif
Tampa Bay Buccaners = Ray McDonald | DL ::: Florida |
4.
5.gif
Cleveland Browns = LaMarr Woodley | DE/OLB ::: Michigan |
Why?: Here's my reason on this one... I would of went OT, but the OT's are pretty deep this year and I expect Sowells, Butler and Tucker to battle it out so I don't see a need there... If we really need one, it will be for depth... CB is another option, but after drafting Minter last year and McCuctcheon coming back, I think we need a CB through FA not the draft... OG is another option, but there aren't any worth this high of a pick... And finally, the DT position is a need, but I already took Branch in the first... So that leaves me with Woodley, who I believe is the BPA at this point... OLB might not be a glaring need, but behind McGinest we have no legit backup.. McMillan is the backup, but he is nothing more than a pass-rush specialist... We also need a successor to McGinest and I think Woodley's game would fit right in here next to Wimbley and is someone that Savage would love..

And at what point is the OL addressed? No thanks. Nice job and great effort. No thanks.

Passing on Arron Sears for another LB is insane..

We took 3 last year 1,2,4 now we're going 2 again? More pressing needs...

BTW guys, if I would of done a 3 rounder, I would of had the Browns getting Manuel Ramirez in the 3rd, so...

Listen I know I didn't address the O-Line in the first 2 rounds but here's why...

We're fine at LT... As long as we get an upgrade at LG in FA, which I think we will, that side of the line will be fine...

I think as far as the center position goes we will re-sign Fraley and have a serviceable backup in Rob Smith..

On the right side we'll have Andruzzi and Sowells battling it out with the guard I think we'll select in the third..

As far as RT, I think the Browns are comfortable with Sowells, Tucker, and Butler battling it out there... So I don't think it's worth getting another tackle..

The really only position on the offensive line we need to address would be RG...

As far as LB... Who's going to take over when Willie is done? Stewart is an average backup and McMillan is nothing more than a pass-rush specialist... Who do we have beside that?

we took 1 michigan headcase and now we are going to add 2 more....yikes.

lol

This guy lost his mind bud..he's done..at least with the Browns..he Britney Spears'd at the end of the season and he's not likely to be back.

this is two months away...who cares...these mock drafts are garbage.

Lets talk about free agency that starts in two weeks.

I would cream my pants...

Cant afford that...we'd be lucky to get one, let alone two.

I'm not saying all...

Everyone says we don't need a LB and they're right but I'd like to throw Adalius on the outside opposite Wimbley let McGinest mentor and see what we can do...

Stealing arguably the best defensive player from the best team in our division would be HUGE.

I think Savage had a hand in drafting him as well..

Clements is a sure signing IMO...former Buckeye ties to the state we need a #1 or #2 corner due to the injuries the Bills won't pony up for him and it just seems like an ideal fit. He is said to be a midnight signing come March 2nd.

The Bungles franchised Justin Smith so re-signing Steinbach is next to impossible with their cap scenario..

Dielman and the Chargers aren't talking anymore he's as good as gone..

I like our chances Savage said he wants quality over quantity this year..I expect 3 top flight FA's

I'm pretty sure Thomas was already franchised, cdt...

Nope,

Numerous articles have been printed saying the Ravens are unable to franchise him meaning they do not have the 12 mill to spend...

He's a goner..

Yes, yes, yes...

If we could add one of Dielman/Stenbach and one of Clements/Assante Samuel I would be very pumped. But then I would probably temper my enthusiasm a bit when I remember that this is the Browns and one of them would be sure to get hurt/go mental/retire before the season starts.
