The Miracle Comeback..

Down 12-0 after 3 1/2 & 14-2 in the bottom of the 7th to Seattle, the Indians score 3 in the 7th, 4 in the 8th, 5 in the 9th to tie it, then win it in the bottom of the 11th on a Jolbert Cabrera single..

Tribe down 14-9 w/ Eddie Taubensee on 1st and 2outs.. Down to their last strike on Wil Cordero, who walked.. Down to their last strike on Einar Diaz, who hit a 2 run single.. Down to their last strike on Vizquel, who tied the game with a 3 run triple..

Amazing comeback.. Here's the link, I get chills every time I see this:

Can't believe this was already 8 years ago. :( I was just a young 25 year-old with the world ahead of him... I remember keeping this game on for whatever reason. Sunday night baseball. Great memory, although the Mariners got their revenge a couple months later.

I remember the Indians were painfully inconsistent that year & I thought for sure this game would be the turning point of the season and lead us to a ring.. Well, we did play better from that point on, IIRC, but unfortunately it didn't carry over..

Terrific memory that I certainly will never forget.. and one of those things where you remember where you were & what you were doing..

I remember that game. I was sitting in my room, about to do some school work, but couldn't (as usual), so I watched this game. I was a big fan of Eddie Taubensee at the time, because I thought he was going to be nasty, so I stayed watching the game.

I watched the whole game bc I had nothing better to do. This definitely ranks as one of my proudest moments as a Cleveland fan, ever. Thanks for that memory, Tribe.

I remember that game. I had flown out to Montana to visit my HS girlfriend. I was sitting at the bar of their restaurant drinking and bullshitting around with the bartender while her dad cooked me dinner. :chuckles:

As you can imagine I was the ONLY Indians fan in the place and I was going absolutely berserk. I knocked some of the dinner he made and a drink onto the floor late in the game. Pretty embarrassing.

I was at this game. I left though before it happened.

I don't believe you!

I definitely remember watching this game. Good times.

I remember watching this on TV and listening to it on the radio. Best comeback ever.

Funny thing was, that Mariner team was one of the best regular season teams in sports history, and their bullpen was one of their biggest assets. No team in the history of baseball was less likely to give up a lead like that.

WOW. Big time chills. Thats all i can say.

That Mariner pen was absolutely sick, especially w/ Charlton, Nelson & Sasaki at the back end of it..

Not to mention, IIRC, that was Paniagua's breakout season as well.. and they had a very good long man in John Halama as well..

Especially w/ Tom Hamilton calling it.. 8 years later & I still get chills from listening to him calling that damn game..

I Was with my buddy and my gf at the time. We were pretty drunk and I was about to change it bad kept it on just for background noise. Suffice to say, we ended up drinking our faces off watching the game.
