A reason for the warriors success (and lack of injuries)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I actually thought one of the biggest things from that article was the sleep aspect. Instead of flying home the night of games, they fly home the next day and let them get a full night's sleep. I definitely could see that having an impact (minor, I'm sure, but I know I wouldn't like having to take red eye flights after every away game).

I really liked that article, I think David Griffin even mentioned something like that in our presser the other day.

I'm a fan of using analytics in this manner. I believe building a team is an art, as much as a science.

This is different though, these guys are using hard science to change their approach to player health and minutes distribution.

Yes, the Spurs started this but GS took it a step further. It's a problem because LeBron would never subscribe to this approach wholeheartedly.

He allocates his own minutes. You need a strong influencing coach to enforce this type of policy. If your players wholeheartedly honor this type of system; there's a lot of promise!

That's where James overstepping his job description hurts us.

It's really ridiculous with the NBA's injury situation this year. If back to back games were eliminated, there's a greater chance of health for everybody.

Playing one NBA game is so physically taxing. Imagine going to the gym and doing a heavy squat workout; your legs are toast you've given your body a lot of stimulation. Rest should follow. You should not go back into the gym and do another leg workout the next day. That's too much fatigue to be putting on the body both locally and systemically.

I think LeBron gets it though. We saw a minutes reduction this year, and I expect it to continue, especially since we won't be trying to grind wins as much throughout the year like we did for the first half.

I also wouldn't be shocked to see him take another two week sabbatical again, and if not, he'll just sit out sporadic games more often. 65 games a year is probably the norm from now on.

to be honest I don't care if we only win 50 games, we just gotta make sure everybody is healthy, well rested and fresh come playoff time, regular season and seeding means nothing imo, the playoffs should be the sole focus of the team and training staff
