Anderson Varejao, Sasha Pavlovic, Eric Snow's contract & a 2009 1st Round Pick

FOR

Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley & DeAndre Jordan

The Cavaliers get some pieces they need to make a championship run for the next two years. They get a good teacher for JJ Hickson in Tim Thomas and a good perimeter defending shooting guard in Mobley. They also get a center prospect for the future in Jordan. The Clippers get younger and save some money in the process, while also getting a future 1st round pick.

I don't know if either team would do it, but it was an idea that I came across.

Cavaliers...
C- Zydrunas Ilgauskas, DeAndre Jordan
PF- Ben Wallace, Tim Thomas, JJ Hickson, Darnell Jackson
SF- LeBron James, Wally Szczerbiak
SG- Cuttino Mobley, Daniel Gibson, Tarence Kinsey
PG- Mo Williams, Delonte West

Clippers...
C- Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, Paul Davis
PF- Anderson Varejao, Steve Novak, Brian Skinner
SF- Al Thornton, Ricky Davis
SG- Eric Gordon, Sasha Pavlovic
PG- Baron Davis, Jason Williams, Jason Hart, Mike Taylor

we trade young plaers plus a 1st round pick for some old PF who can't rebound, an old SG, and an unproven Center

noooooooooooooooooooo

i like the idea... it will make let us win a championship!! for 2009 only!! we need to build a group of core players who can play and grow together! it's called dynasty!!

What's up with these horrible trades?

wow thats a horrible trade. tim thomas and cuttino mobley would shrivel up on the court.there to old.

Too old? Since when is 31 and 33 years old too old? I consider anybody over 35 TOO OLD. I agree they are past their prime, but they still have a few years left in them. They only have 2 more years left on their contract and would help in 2 championship runs until LBJ could hit free agency in 2010. It's not like they are signed for 4 or 5 more years...it's only 2 more years!!! The 2009 1st rounder isn't going to be missed because more than likely it would be in the 25-30 range and we would use it on a center to replace Z...and we get a young rookie center in this trade. This upcoming draft isn't going to be loaded with center prospects like 2008 was. So losing this pick is a wash, in my mind with getting DeAndre Jordan back. He would have a year to develop over the draft pick too.

Tim Thomas matched his career numbers pretty well last season.

'07/08 stats: 12.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 41% fg, 12.29 PER
career stats: 11.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 43% fg, 13.33 PER

Cuttino Mobley came close to his career numbers last season.

'07/08 stats: 12.8 ppg, 43% fg, 34% 3p, 11.56 PER
career stats: 16.1 ppg, 43% fg, 37% 3p, 13.52 PER

If you're still coming close to your career numbers, then you are far from finished.

Terrible idea. Just say no.

If anything they should be giving us a first round pick.

Make that 3 first round picks. I still wouldn't do it. :chuckles:

I would have to pass on this aswell, we need youth to build what we are looking for. The other side of 30 is called that in the NBA for a reason. To be honest I wouldn't give up a First's for anything less than a Wade/Bosh well you get my point. It would have to be a imediate and drastic improvement to consider gicing up a first even if it is a low 19 + pick. Just my 2 cents.

Tim Thomas = :puke:

One of the biggest wastes of talent basketball has ever seen.

Sorry, but it's true

I don't mind trade ideas as long as they're realistic. This isn't realistic. Tim Thomas is awful. We get even worse in the PF/C area. Mobley is the only good piece we get, but would he really be that much better than Wally? I don't think so.
