Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we can add a decent back up or better center or back up unit is closing in on being better than some of the starting units we've put on the floor in the past few years. Sprinkle in a starter or two and we should be able to win games, keep players fresh and match up with different styles of play.

PF/C Jeremy Tyler might be worth a camp invite..Always wondered what would've become of him if he had just stayed in the US and gone to college.

He didn't look terrible for the Knicks last year and could still have some potential. Might be able to block a few shots in limited minutes. It's looking more like the backup C position is going to be patchwork at least for awhile until the right deal comes along.

so the latest TSpence rumor is that we are offering Haywood, Dion and a 1st for Hibbert

2 problems

While I believe Dion is our best trade chip for a legit center, not sure I want to use him to get Hibbert.

Two, not sure how the salaries match in 2014. Hibbert makes 14.9, meaning we need to ship out 9.9. Dion and Hawyood equal 6 million. If we still had Bogans it works.

If this rumor is true, Indy said no and we moved on and traded Bogans for a TPE.

it aint gonna happen, but still its fun to talk about i guess

I wouldn't count anything for sure or out at this point. One thing I'm learning about this front office is that they are prone to do anything. And it seems they want a plodder in the middle just so they can deal with Tim Duncan/post big. They also want to deal with Tony Parker/penetrator. We really can't assume anything since this front office is a hellava different group than Chris Grant. They WILL make a move.

Not saying it'll happen, but I always considered Hibbert like an Ilgauskas-type player. It's a possibility....

Let's wait it out. We'll have our answer closer to the end of October.

The idea of giving up a guy with the passion of Dion for a sensitive aloof like Roy Hibbert doesn't sit well with me at all, even if he solves the rim protector need.

I don't even see a reasonable way the Cavs could trade for Hibbert at this time: Haywood's trade value is $2M, the TPE can't be combined. So anyway, we don't have to worry about that, but I am a bit concerned the Cavs may have interest at all, since who knows what Indy will do next off-season after winning 30 games this year.

Well the man Chris Sheridan re-posted this tweet as well:

And we all know what happened the last time Chris Sheridan said something about the Cavs:
