Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With Freeland passing him on the depth chart, why not give Myers Leonard a shot ? I'm just thinking
of guys that could possibly be available. Sure he's a project but may be worth a shot .

This is another shot in the dark, but I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on BJ Mullens. He's still young (25) and shot 37% from 3 last year. I wouldn't count on him to contribute, but I would love it if the Cavs signed a vet like Okafor and had Mullens for depth purposes. Worst case scenario is he's a big body (7'1" 275 lbs) to throw out there for fouls. If anyone has some good insight on Mullens, I'd love to hear it.

The word is he has a terrible motor takes plays off and does not play hard, and sometimes is very lazy on defense. He does not use his size to his advantage at all. This guy never worked hard enough to develop all the way back to the Ohio Sate days. Basically, he has just enough natural talent to be in the NBA< but wasted a chance to have a solid career because he never put in the work. Basically he is a big body, who is a decent 3 point shooter. But does not provide the size, or defense in the paint that we are really looking for.

Mullens is all potential and no show. He's not a very good rebounder or shot blocker for his size. He's not a good shooter generally, though he is good for his size from the perimeter (though he's no Spencer Hawes from 3). If I were going to role the dice on an Ohio State product, I'd probably roll them on Oden, who stayed healthy last year in limited action and was effective as a rebounder. Koufos or Oden are better candidates either via trade or free agency if we want to try OSU centers on for size.

if the Cavs get Gorgui Dieng in a trade, would that satisfy Cavs fans desperate for a rim protector?

Dieng's intrigue as an NBA prospect starts with his prototypical size and length for the center position. Standing 6'11 with a 7'4+ wingspan, he's added nearly 50 pounds to his frame since arriving in the USA, and although he could still stand to pack on more muscle to both his upper and lower body, he certainly passes the look test at this point more easily than he did as recently as a year ago.

On top of his sheer size, Dieng is also a solid athlete for a near 7-footer, possessing good quickness and leaping ability to go along with a strong motor. His mobility is noticeable in his rebounding ability, but even more so on the defensive end, where he did a tremendous job last season protecting the rim behind Louisville's aggressive perimeter players in Rick Pitino's zone and when defending one-on-one en route to being named Big East Defensive Player of the Year.

Absolutely. I think Dieng is just perfect for us. Young, cheap contract, doesn't need the ball to contribute. Great fit with Love, also.

But how exactly do we convince Minny to trade him? One idea I saw elsewhere has us trading Dion to Philly. In return, Philly agrees to take the Martin contract that Minny desperately wants to ditch. And in return for getting rid of Martin, and as part of the Wiggins/Love deal, they throw in Dieng. Philly tosses us Wroten to clear their logjam and to give us a long defender at the 2.

Not exactly sure how I feel about that, but it's not going to be easy to have a rebuilding team give up a guy like Dieng.

Bennett, Waiters, Haywood, 2015 1st, and 2016 2nd + cash for Mozgov, Hickson, Faried

Is Kevin Seraphin a viable option? I know he's a restricted FA,but the Wizards are over the cap with a loaded front court so they'd probably let him go.

i like dieng and mosgov
