Hey guys - I'm sure this has already been posted or already been discussed but I was on some Miami boards and one of their posters said the following -

Okay guys...media guy I correspond with told me what is going on.

We HAVE A DEAL if we take one of these two scenarios...both of which suck.

Scenario #1: We get rid of basically nothing (D.Cook, Haslem, J. Jones, picks, JO) for Amare......PLUS we get back Jason Richardson. Jason Richardson's contract is an albatross and IMO is a deal breaker. We cannot take back that contract at 14 mil per. Even if we buy him out to create the cap space, it would cost us upwards of 20 Million dollars plus the luxury tax to go with it which would mean that we would say good bye to around 30 to 35 million in ACTUAL DOLLARS. Not ONE Team in the NBA will pay around 30 Million actual dollars to create cap space. Too much money. Arison does not mind losing 15 to 20 million in a season...good luck in trying to get to him to lose 50 to 60. Just bad business.

Scenario #2: We lose Haslem and Beasley along with D.Cook, Filler, picks for Amare and a player of interest (not told which guy it is) in a three way deal. Charlotte is involved in that deal, as I said earlier in this thread, Charlotte is hot after Haslem. I am told that Riley has already balked at this deal. Phoenix is being unreasonable IMO.

Maybe I shouldn't have asked for the links. This is awful, and why would they talk about a legal matter as nonchalant as they are doing. Obviously, they don't have much material to work with today. First, they talked about Moe's for about 15 minutes, and now on to this crap.

- Mentions the 30 day rule. Gives example of Drew Gooden returning to Dallas, Zydrunas returning to Cleveland. Player's union wouldn't like closing this rule. Thinks making them ineligible for playoffs would be a compromise for both parties.

- Amar'e might be moved as early as today. Both teams using each other as leverage, but Phoenix doesn't like Miami's offer. At the end of the day, both teams are going to come back together and hammer out a deal. Dismisses the Shaq/Amar'e can't play together theory.

- LeBron has no excuses if this deal gets done. Mentions how well the Cavaliers treat him, with the jet Gilbert arranged. No reason to leave with the money we're willing to spend.

- Have to make our move to make sure we're head and shoulders above the rest. Don't even leave it to chance that another team gets the best of us.

- He thinks we'll look to sign Amar'e to an extension right away or work it out with him opting into his contract in the off-season and signing a deal then.

Who has posted that the palyoffs are a halfcourt game that defense wins. Cleveland would have made the finals last year IF their perimeter defense could have stopped the Magics. SO is Amare going to help on defense ? LeBron says he will make sure he fits in. How can you get him to suddenly play good defense ? Think about how long LeBron took to become a good defender. Amare will take minutes from Andy who is our BEST PF defender, AND we give up Hickson who also is doing a good job on the boards.
I don't like the deal.
