A back injury to a post player is as big a deal as an ankle injury to a guard. The only way back to OK is get off your feet and rest it. If you dont take care, it becomes chronic.
So lets ask this question. Can the cavs make that push for the playoffs without him? He would be useful against the Cats, because Jefferson has been tearing it up in the post. This game will really test Hawes and Zeller and Thompson to some extent. But if we cant beat the knicks without AV, we arent going to make the playoffs. I can see the FO playing some wait and see before risking further damage.
Bear in mind we are not going to catch Charlotte. The only playoff spot we have a real shot at is the eight seed, and that means we have to beat the knicks, pistons and the hawks. The hawks are the furthest ahead of us, but IMHO they are driving a strong tank. The pistons are only one game up on us and have not been on fire. The knicks have been wildly inconsistent as always. I think we could play 500 ball and still get there.
