Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lately it looks like he has cement in his shoes. He hasn't even been jumping at the opening tip and is getting 0 elevation around the rim. It would be ideal to get another big and reduce andy's role off the bench, but that is easier said than done.

Andy has gotten posterized in each of the last two games if I'm not mistaken... It always seems like Andy is getting destroyed

Looks like Andy's age (and maybe the fact that he's been having to start at center for the past few years) is finally catching up to him. He's really getting thrown around. Another reason to start TT at center, who is obviously much stronger, and bring Andy off the bench with Delly and Dion.

Andy is sucking some major ass right now, he looks softer than Love.

I may try Andy off the bench, but I don't have a lot of hope of it working. His biggest asset right now is his chemistry playing a 2 man game with Bron. Bring him off the bench and playing him with other guys and I'm not sure what he does at all....

II just realised that Andy is the reason Cavs D suck so much.
he's always losing his man and is slow or non existant in PnR D and can't contest shots at the rim.
Can't believe the Cavs paid him so much smh

He rebounds the ball like he needs to be doing ?

Is something precluding him from rebounding the ball in the starting line-up?

I just don't think it's going to be beneficial overall to split Varejao and LBJ up. While the starting unit may actually perform better I think you take away Andy's one strength so far this season, so it'll be a net loss.

Him and Kyrie could get back to playing pick n roll together with the 2nd unit since Kyrie is usually leading the 2nd unit. I'd give it a shot. Tristan has earned it and looks much better with the 1st teamers.

Andy is basically Willie Mays Hayes right now. He's abandoned what has kept him in the league for so long in favor of showy offense. Blatt needs to tell him that we have offense covered and to get back to work on the glass and stop saving himself on defense for the offensive end (including not taking fouls because he thinks he is consequential). It's embarrassing.

I'm not even a huge TT fan, but man are we lucky we have him right now. Without his inside presence, we'd be in worse trouble than we are now.

Maybe the presence of Lebron and Love ? I don't know tbh, but as far taking away his pick and pop game with Lebron, we really don't need that offense from him. Especially if a shooter like Miller is in there and Varajao is giving those points back anyways.

There's ways to bring Andy off the bench & still have him play with LeBron (and he does still have chemistry with Kyrie).

For example, LeBron usually plays the entire 1st quarter, while Kyrie usually starts the 2nd. Bring Andy off the bench in the 1st, have him play some with LeBron, start the 2nd with Kyrie, etc..
