Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seems like yesterday we were watching his highlight videos comparing his game from Parker and going crazy over this pic

Kevin Love can't do that :chuckle:

Don't forget LaVine:

...and Minnesota has them both! :)

I'll always have a soft spot for Wiggins. Bitter sweet to see him playing well and was real tough watching him torch us when we played Minny a few games back (you know he loved sticking it to LBJ), but he is a good kid and wish him the best.

Would have been interesting seeing how he actually looked alongside Lebron...

Lebron was really short sighted about not seeing the value Wiggins brought to his career.

Kobe found out what happened when you start to age and can no longer be the lock down defender that chased around the other teams best player every night with young legs. The Lakers failure to ever get a young/athletic Wiggins like 2/3 to serve as the bridge has been glaring for years now and effectively put an end to their window.

Wiggins would have helped extend Lebron's career and save major wear and tear he will endure the next couple years because of the lack of a long/athletic Wiggins like defender.

People got so caught up in offensive capability that Wiggins supposedly didn't have and couldn't wait to jump on Love even though his best asset (offense) is wasted on a roster with Lebron/Kyrie because there is only 1 basketball on the court at a time.

Length and athleticism have actually been completely ignored since Lebron originally left, so to have finally acquired someone who had both (Wiggins) was exciting. Now we're back to being the smallest most unathletic team in the league again but at least we can score points I guess.

Wiggins has a lot to work on. His percentages from the field and free throw line concur with what many people were saying during the draft process and Summer League: His shot is flat and needs some refinement. He is also sporting lines of 1.4 assists to 1.9 turnovers. That is pretty terrible for a non- big man. Does he look like one of the better rookies out there? Sure. I was in favor of drafting him #1 overall at the time. However, I think his value around the league is less right now than it was after the draft. I dislike Love's defensive presence, but he is absolutely as advertised as a rebounder and finisher in the pick and roll/ pick and pop game. Again, there is collateral damage to clearing cap space and acquiring one of the better players in the game. Wiggins looking faulted on a bad team that can't win needs some even handed perspective here.

I just hate that we traded the Miami pick on top of Wiggins. smh griffin got fleeced

Funny that when you say that now you get multiple likes, when I said it 4 months ago I got 10+ dumbs. In a way I wish Dan Gilbert owned the Indians instead of the Cavs. In baseball you can get away with wasting money on large contracts and making mistakes while in basketball there is a salary cap and only 5 starters and limited bench spots. In baseball you can certainly buy yourself a championship i.e. Yankees while making some financial mistakes while in basketball you can't really get away with any major mistakes.

It was good you made this post now because this argument won't be there to stand on in about another 20 games most likely.

He started really slow which is not unexpected for a rookie on a bad team.

Last couple weeks his %'s have jumped significantly, but are still being dragged down overall by the slow start.

Do a google search. The media narrative about his game is changing rapidly from where it was a month ago as he is playing at a much higher level and people are noticing who haven't been paying attention.

That a 19 year old rookie is able to so rapidly improve his game and start to sustain it as he has is a good sign for him that big things lay ahead.

It is a low point in the season, but not because of the talent at the top of the roster. The supporting cast needs an upgrade, pieces were missing that left the parts left on the floor mismatched.

If there is a comfortable time to say a few guys who were traded are missed, I think that time will be in the rearview mirror soon, if not based in a fictional scenario altogether.

The Cavaliers just grabbed a wing defender pretty easily tonight. Nobody knows what Wiggins will be in three years, but I know his passing and shooting will need much longer than this season to get to where Shumpert will likely be right now.

Once Love can go back to being an offensive finishing power forward with a defensive center next to him, his weaknesses will go back to being covered and his vast positives can come back to the forefront. 20 and 10 at power forward with three point range is so much harder to find than a wing defender.

I hear you on long-term potential... but nothing guaranteed with athletic freaks who haven't learned to play winning basketball yet.

Wiggins is a beast. He's doing these things as a 19 year old rookie. Love shooting 34% from three is unacceptable if you want to justify trading Wiggins away. Kevin needs to be shooting at the very least at a 36% clip for this trade to make SOME sense.

If Love could play SOME defense too, that'd be great.

Wiggins is looking like a future superstar atm

Wiggins is the superior player to Shumpert today.

I'm dying for KLove to show me why we traded for him. Looks like last year's team with him and Kyrie.

I'm not saying Wiggins would impact the game more, but Loves impact is not that high right now either.

Ohhh geez the one handed outlet pass at 1:51, but it's ok though we have some dude on our team who is going to demand 9 figures that can kinda do that too!

P.S. His jumper looks better than Love's right now.

Dan Gilbert lacks so much visions at times. Its like they went "omg, Lebron is coming back, lets make rash moves to please him". What have we done my God, what have we done.

Bronnie didn't think his plan out well enough and I think he knows it.
